When Noelle finished her shower that evening, she took out her phone and scrolled through Instagram. Her post had exploded with likes.
Jeremy: "Tsk."
Grace: "So jealous."
Mia: "Same here. "
Eugene: "No need to be."
Seeing these comments, Noelle smiled and pressed her lips together. While Cedric was in the shower, she sneakily reached for his phone. She tried his passcode, and to her surprise, it was still the same one.
She opened Instagram and found the post he'd made earlier. He barely posted on Instagram, just a few sparse updates, all work-related.
Except this one. Not only that, he had pinned it to the top of his profile.
The post also had many likes and comments.
Alfred: "I'm so jealous! The eternal lone wolf finally found his love!"
Magnus: "Noelle! Hope you have an amazing life together and a bunch of kids in no time!"
Noelle chuckled at how Cedric even pinned the Instagram post. That actually meant something.
"Done looking?" Cedric's voice suddenly came from behind her.
Noelle jumped, and she hurriedly put the phone aside. "T-That was quick..."
Cedric grabbed her chin. "Quick? Well, looks like I need to teach you a lesson."
Cedric pressed Noelle down beneath him, looking down at her from above. She covered his mouth, protesting, "I meant you showered quickly. You misunderstood."
What was Ivy doing here?
Morgan stood up with a warm smile. "Noelle, there you are—being a good Samaritan again, I see?"
Ivy stood as well. "Yes, Ms. Liddell. I really wanted to thank you. But since I know money isn't something you're lacking, I reached out to the school and told them about your good deed instead, hoping they'd recognize you for your kindness."
Noelle listened and felt frustrated. She had already said she didn't need any thanks, and she especially hated when people made decisions for her without asking.
Morgan chimed in enthusiastically. "This is a good thing, Noelle! The school is awarding you prize money and giving you extra credit points."
Noelle stared at the certificate in her hands and felt like she was being put on the spot.
Ivy stepped closer. "Ms. Liddell, thank you so much for saving me."
Noelle's tone turned cold. "But Ms. Sterling, did you ever ask how I felt about it?"
