Noelle thought about it before returning Mia's message with a call. "Uh… I missed your call last night. What's up?"
"You missed it? It wasn't even that late; you don't go to bed that early, do you? Or was it just not a convenient time to answer?"
There was a teasing tone in Mia's voice that caused Noelle's face to flush instantly. The latter quickly changed the subject and said, "I'll tell you all about it when I get back."
"Fine. So, Laura made a move. She's started working at PZ Group."
At the mention of Laura, Noelle's tone turned cold. "What position is she holding over there? She's handling the AI project in collaboration with Liddell Corporation. Do you think that's a coincidence?
"If she'd just joined some random role, I wouldn't have bothered telling you. But PZ Group is a strong company that might grow to be Maple Enterprise's biggest competitor."
"I see why she went there now. She really doesn't give up, does she?" Noelle didn't have to guess too hard to know what Laura was planning.
Mia added, "Anyway, just keep an eye out. Laura has nothing left now, so she'll definitely try to mess with you somehow."
"I understand."
Right after Noelle hung up, Cedric walked out of the kitchen carrying breakfast. She walked over and commented, "It looks a lot better than last time."
"You should taste it then. It definitely tastes better, too." Cedric was completely unbothered and sounded extremely confident.
Then, he glanced at her and asked, "Who was calling just now? An old classmate?"
He'd been thinking about who Noelle might have had a crush on. It was most likely someone from Aldoria or a classmate from her school days.
