After receiving a call from Cedric, Noelle realized that what Mia had said was probably true. He had come to her, most likely because he had no other choices left.
Noelle replied, "Yeah, I've heard about Mrs. Greene from Mia. I'll go talk to Carl about it."
"Let's meet up first before you go look for him," Cedric replied.
"Okay."
Noelle and Cedric then agreed on a time and place to meet up. She then turned to Mia and said, "I'm not actually sure if Carl can actually cure Mrs. Greene."
Grace spoke up from the side, "It's worth a try, seeing that there are no other options left. I still think that the Merlocks are rather suspicious. Don't forget that Mrs. Merlock and Mrs. Greene's kidneys turned out to be a match for each other."
Noelle nodded. "You're right."
It was hard to say whether or not it was all just a coincidence or if the Merlocks had deliberately arranged for it to happen. The Merlock family was already done for, and nobody knows what a woman backed into a corner might do.
Noelle went straight to the hospital at the agreed time. She also brought a bouquet of flowers with her.
Emma's hospital ward was heavily guarded, so ordinary folks could not possibly get close to it. Noelle was also stopped outside, but Magnus had fortunately recognized her and let her in.
She noticed that he looked much more worn out than usual. She then asked. "How's Mrs. Greene doing?"
"Mom's asleep right now. She hasn't been sleeping well for the past few days. She's in a lot of pain, but she would just keep quiet about it so that she wouldn't cause us to worry," Magnus replied.
There were dark circles under Magnus' eyes. It was apparent that he did not get much sleep either. With such a problem happening right when the surgery was just around the corner, no one would be in a good mood.
Magnus continued, "Mom would be really happy to know that you're here to visit her. She had always felt guilty about what happened back then."
"That's all in the past now. The real culprit will face the consequences soon," Noelle replied.
