No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 443

Sitting in her car, Claudia sized up the two junk collectors.

Remembering that Cyrus had been suddenly injured not long ago, she instinctively remained on guard.

She observed the two men carefully and rolled her window halfway up. "I'm just passing by, stopped to make a phone call."

The two men exchanged a look, then turned to leave.

Watching their backs, Claudia called out, "Are you looking for the owner of this house for a specific reason?"

The two men paused for a noticeable moment before quickly getting back into their truck and driving away.

Claudia sensed something was wrong and immediately got out of her car to ring the gate.

If they were really junk collectors, they should have knocked on the door to speak with the owner. They wouldn't have asked her if she was the owner, and they certainly wouldn't have ignored her question and just left.

The butler opened the gate, and Claudia entered Grant Manor without any issue.

She drove in and followed the butler from her car into the living room.

She didn't see Old Mr. Grant, nor did she see any of Grant Manor's usual maids or bodyguards.

A sense of unease crept over Claudia.

Upstairs, in the second-floor study, Cyrus sat quietly in his wheelchair before the floor-to-ceiling window. He was wearing a loose, dark, low-collared pajama set, his face expressionless as he toyed with a cross bracelet in his hands.

Seeing Claudia enter, a serious aura emanated from him.

Claudia explained, "Mr. Cyrus, I was in the neighborhood after work and thought I'd stop by to see you."

Cyrus maneuvered his wheelchair over to her.

It was over an hour's drive from the hospital to Grant Manor, one in the north and the other in the south.

She was lying to his face without even blinking.

When Cyrus didn't speak, Claudia knelt beside him and tucked the thin blanket around his legs.

She had come today to confirm he was alright, but instead, she had encountered those two suspicious men at the gate.

They had seen her face and her license plate.

If she drove away from Grant Manor now, she didn't know if she would be followed.

Her parents were ordinary people, and her brother had just finished his exams. She had to be cautious.

Oliver returned and whispered something in Cyrus's ear.

Cyrus looked at Claudia. "You'll stay at Grant Manor tonight. In the room next to mine."

When Claudia heard this, her heart jumped into her throat.

At one in the morning, the power in all the rooms at Grant Manor suddenly went out.

Claudia, already a light sleeper due to her worries, was woken by a strange noise from the room next door. She got up and realized the power was out.
