No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 405

Darleen obediently got into the car.

York walked up to Claudia and handed her a gift box.

"I can't make it to Laird's wedding in two days," he said. "Could you give this to him for me?"

Claudia hesitated, then refused. "If you're busy, you can just text him."

York stared at her, his gaze intense. His low voice was thick with an unreadable emotion. "Claudia, do you really have to be so distant with me?"

Just then, the door opened and Jessica called out, "Claudia, come back inside."

Claudia turned to reply.

York couldn't stop himself from grabbing her arm.

After a moment's pause, Claudia took the gift box. "I'll give it to him for you."

With that, she turned and hurried back into the yard.

York stood at the gate for a long time, reluctant to leave. He didn't move until Darleen called his name several times from the car.

After he got in, Darleen couldn't help but ask, "Brother, do you regret divorcing Claudia?"

York glanced at her.

He felt worried and reluctant to let her go, but he didn't regret agreeing to the divorce.

He wanted a fresh start with her. He would work to rebuild the feelings they once had, so that one day, she would willingly return to his side.

The next morning, Claudia had breakfast with her parents. After the divorce, she cherished these moments with them more than ever. She loved her new, simple, and unrestrained life.

Jessica asked worriedly, "Is York still pestering you? Has he given up?"

Claudia put down her utensils and reassured them, "Don't worry, Mom and Dad. He just came by last night to pick up Darleen and asked me for a small favor."

Claudia nodded. "He doesn't just have feelings for you. He loves you. He's your simp."

A satisfied smile touched Ann's lips. "Tomorrow's my birthday, and York told me he's got a gift I'll never forget. So I won't be coming in for my recovery session."

When Claudia didn't respond, Ann asked tauntingly, "Dr. Watkins, you've known York for so many years, you must know him well. What kind of expensive gift do you think he'll give me?"

Claudia couldn't help but sneer. "Ann, let me give you a piece of advice."

Ann raised an eyebrow. "If it's just you being jealous, then don't bother. I already know."

"When dogs get too excited, it's a sign a storm is coming," Claudia said. "You might want to take it easy."

With that, Claudia turned and walked away.

Watching Claudia's confident, bold stride, Ann's gaze sharpened. Her eyes were like two daggers, wishing they could pierce Claudia through.
