No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 353

Ann had barely steadied herself in the living room when Eddy Watkins snatched a vase and charged at her, roaring, "I'm going to fucking kill you!"

Ann hadn't expected Eddy to be home. Terrified, she spun around and bolted.

She paused at the doorway and yelled at Claudia, "I'll be waiting for you downstairs!"

Watching Ann scramble into the elevator, Claudia stopped Eddy from giving chase.

"That woman is shameless! How dare she barge into our home?" Eddy was still fuming, ready to go after her.

Jessica Stone took the vase from her son's hands. "A woman like that has no shame. She's capable of anything. It's best we just ignore her."

Felix Watkins' face was pale with anger. He sat stiffly on the sofa, not saying a word.

After a moment's hesitation, Claudia addressed her family. "Mom, Dad, I'm going to go down for a minute. I'll be right back."

She went to her room, changed her clothes, grabbed an umbrella, and headed out.

Her family home was her sanctuary. Her family, her last line of defense.

She would never allow Ann to disturb them here.

Late at night, a light rain was still falling.

Beside the greenbelt at the entrance of the residential complex.

Ann had dropped her umbrella at Claudia's door in her hasty retreat and was now soaked and miserable.

Seeing Claudia approaching slowly with an umbrella, a wave of baseless fury surged through her.

She rushed forward, launching into a tirade. "You bitch, Claudia! You talk about divorce, but behind my back, you're seducing York, luring him to Europe, sleeping with him! You claim you'll leave with nothing, yet you even try to steal the birthday present York bought for my son!"

Claudia calmly bent down and set her umbrella on the ground.

She walked right up to Ann and grabbed a fistful of her hair.

*Smack.*

She gritted her teeth. "Claudia, what I hate most about you is that self-righteous act of yours."

"You blocked me from the hospital's system so I couldn't get an appointment with you. It's because you couldn't keep your own baby, so you're jealous that York is good to my son. You hate me! You're refusing to divorce him just to get back at me!"

"York knew from the very beginning that my son wasn't his! He still chose us over you, chose to hurt you for our sake! And you still won't divorce him?"

Claudia calmly watched Ann's hysterical breakdown.

"It's true that you're a factor in why York and I are where we are today," she reminded Ann. "But no matter how ugly things get between us, I have never directed my anger at you."

Whether it was betrayal or pain, those were York's choices. They had nothing to do with anyone else.

"Ann, as one woman to another, let me give you a piece of advice," Claudia said. "Don't pin your hopes on a man. A woman's best security is never marriage. You can't rely on anyone but yourself."

Ann reacted as if she'd just heard the funniest joke in the world. "That's rich, coming from you, Claudia. When the Watkins family went bankrupt back then, if York hadn't married you, would you be living this comfortable life today?"

Looking at Ann, Claudia saw a reflection of her former self.
