No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 347

York's phone, which had fallen to the floor, was ringing incessantly.

But he was so lost in his anguish that he was deaf to the outside world.

Ann finally gave up after calling York three times with no answer.

The next morning.

As Ann hurried out of the apartment York had arranged for her, she was cornered at the community entrance by her brother, sister-in-law, and mother.

Her sister-in-law immediately demanded money. "Ann, you were the one who told us to sell our house and move to another city, saying we were getting in the way of you and that Ferguson guy. Now, because of you, we can't make a living there anymore. If you don't give us money today, I'm not letting this go!"

Ann, terrified of causing a scene, tried to pull them aside. "Sister-in-law, keep your voice down! This apartment was given to me by York, I didn't buy it."

Her mother, Laurel, chimed in, "Ann, both of your nephews are in school. Your brother and his wife have a heavy burden. It's only right that you help them out. Ask York for more, maybe enough for two places. Make sure they're in a good school district."

Her sister-in-law nodded eagerly. "If that York can give you an apartment, he can do the same for us! He's the richest man in Capital City. His pocket change would be enough for us to buy a villa. If he doesn't pay up, we'll go to his company and make a scene."

Ann dodged the demand. "Sister-in-law, please don't go to York! If you make him angry, life will be hard for all of us."

She quickly took out her phone to transfer money. "I'll send you what I have on me now. Just go, quickly, before York sees you. I'll do my best to figure out how to get the money for a house."

After finally persuading her family to leave, Ann returned to her apartment, overcome with anxiety.

She desperately needed money, but York wasn't providing any.

If she had known things would get this difficult, she never would have listened to that old hag Wendy and tried to project the image of an independent woman by refusing York's money.

York's hand paused as he was reviewing a document. "Let her come up."

Mark nodded and soon escorted Ann into the office.

As soon as Mark left, Ann spoke anxiously, "York, can you lend me some money?"

York looked at her, his eyes clearly scrutinizing. "Are you short on cash?"

Ann walked around the desk to face him, on the verge of tears.

"York, you know what happened with my live-streaming business. I lost my job," she said. "And that contract your mother tricked me into signing had a hidden clause. She's demanding thirty million in compensation. I don't have the money to pay her, so she's going after my brother and his wife. Now they're desperate and have no choice but to come to me."

She paused for a moment. "I can't even take care of myself right now. Where am I supposed to get money to settle them down, let alone pay back your mother? I have no one else to turn to but you."
