No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 301

Claudia's attitude grated on York's last nerve.

He bent down, scooped her up, and placed her on the desk.

In black trousers and a white shirt, York's model-like physique looked even leaner and more striking. He leaned in, one hand gripping the small of her back and the other planted on the desk beside her, trapping her beneath him.

They stared at each other in silence, so close their breaths mingled.

Claudia propped herself up on her hands, her eyes filled with a tense, defensive light.

"We can talk this out," she said, her tone softening. "Just let me down first."

The hand on her waist couldn't resist inching upward. His gaze fixed on her lips, and his voice softened unconsciously. "You haven't seen me in days. Did you miss me?"

The question caught Claudia off guard. She froze for a second before snapping back. "York, are you insane? You should be asking-"

Before she could finish, her words were swallowed by his kiss.

York cupped the back of her head, giving her no chance to retreat. His warm lips moved over hers, a hesitant exploration that betrayed both a desire for restraint and an overwhelming craving. It didn't matter if she missed him or not. He missed her.

He missed knowing what she was thinking, missed the sound of her voice, missed her body.

His hand slipped under her clothes, deftly unhooking her bra. He pulled her into a frantic kiss, his heavy breathing a testament to the desire he'd suppressed for too long.

Claudia felt the change in his body and began to struggle, a wave of panic washing over her. Just as his aggressive kisses trailed down her neck, his intentions clear, a violent wave of nausea surged through her stomach.

"Ugh—"

The moment the door clicked shut, she slumped back against it, her body loose and drained.

Her period always arrived like clockwork at the end of the month. Today was April 3rd. She was only a few days late, which was still within a normal range.

But two days ago, she'd felt the same sudden wave of nausea while having lunch with a colleague in the cafeteria. She'd brushed it off as a chill and thought nothing more of it.

Tonight was the second time. She also realized she'd been eating and sleeping more lately; her colleagues had even commented that she'd gained weight. She had assumed it was because she was in a good mood with York gone.

Now, it seemed she had been careless.

Claudia was a doctor. Even without personal experience, she knew exactly what this likely meant. Wrapping her arms around her knees, her breathing unsteady, she felt a wave of helplessness wash over her. Tomorrow, at work, she had to get a pregnancy test.
