No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 268

Seeing how exhausted Claudia was, her eyes nearly shut, York didn't press the issue.

Half an hour later, after helping Rock settle into the guest room, Claudia returned to the master bedroom. York was sitting on the bed, his face a thundercloud, not moving a muscle. She got into bed, turned off the light, and ignored him completely.

The next morning, the three of them were about to have breakfast when the doorbell rang. Claudia assumed it was Peter, looking for a free meal. Instead, it was Celia.

Celia pushed past Claudia and marched straight to York. "Mr. Ferguson, something happened to Ann last night. She's in a really bad way. I told her to call you, but she refused. I had no other choice but to come find you myself."

York glanced at Claudia before asking Celia, "What happened?"

Celia shot a deliberate look back at Claudia. "Mr. Ferguson, it's complicated. It's better if you just come and see for yourself."

York walked over to Claudia, his eyes filled with indecision. With surprising composure, Claudia urged him to go. "Miss Hawk came all the way here personally. It must be serious. You should go."

Looking at Claudia's calm demeanor, York felt a mix of emotions. He gently took her hand, but she tried to pull away. He only held it tighter.

"Miss Hawk, you may leave," York said to Celia. "If Ann needs me, she will contact me herself."

Celia was stunned by his composure. "Mr. Ferguson, I know your wife is here, so it's inconvenient for you to speak freely. But your relationship with Ann is an open secret in our circle."

For a split second, a dangerous look flashed in York's eyes. Celia pressed on, "Mr. Ferguson, even if Ann is with you without a formal title, she did give you a son. She's emotionally unstable right now. She needs you."

The coldness in York's expression deepened. "Miss Hawk, you can leave now!"

Ann's eyes darted away. "Celia, why would you ask that?"

"I did exactly what you told me to," Celia said, her voice sharp. "Not only was York completely unfazed, but he also let that weirdo throw soy milk all over me!"

Looking embarrassed, Ann mumbled, "Maybe it was because his wife was there. It wasn't convenient for him to leave." Hearing Celia's report, Ann's fists clenched, her nails digging deep into her palms.

At three o'clock that afternoon, in a café in Capital City, Ann had arranged to meet Wendy.

Ann got straight to the point. "Mrs. Ferguson, you said you had a way to make York and his wife divorce quickly so that York and I could be together openly. Is that true?"

Wendy glanced at Ann and gracefully set down her coffee cup.
