Never Mistake a Queen for a Lapdog novel Chapter 1245

"Don't..." Claire immediately protested, trying to pull away.

"If you keep dragging this out, you're going to get sick." His voice was incredibly tense, laced with a raw anxiety.

Without waiting for her to argue, he swiftly undid the top buttons of her training suit and pulled down the zipper.

Underneath the training gear, she was only wearing her underwear.

Panicking, Claire clutched the fabric to her chest. "Turn around!"

Surprisingly obedient, Wilbur turned his back to her, standing perfectly still.

She quickly peeled off the soaking wet training suit, desperate to slip into something dry.

But she hadn't brought spare underwear to the dressing room, and the set she had on was completely drenched.

Keeping it on would be miserable.

She hesitated for a few seconds before taking it off anyway.

The clothes she was changing into included a loose-fitting hoodie, and since she didn't have a large chest, she figured it wouldn't be noticeable.

Once she was fully dressed, Claire finally spoke up. "I'm done."

Wilbur turned back around. "Still cold?"

"A little." She didn't lie.

Her hair was still dripping wet, after all.

Wilbur grabbed a dry towel and began to gently dry her hair.

"You're completely soaked, too," Claire reminded him.

But he didn't have a change of clothes here.

"I'll dry your hair first, then I'll go back and change."

"No!" Claire grabbed his wrist. "You'll catch a cold too."

The heavy, suffocating hostility that had been lingering between Wilbur's brows suddenly melted away.

A trace of pure delight crept into his voice. "Are you worrying about me?"

If this were any other time, Claire would have vehemently denied it.

But he had soaked himself to the bone jumping in to save her life.

If she denied it, she would just sound heartless.

So, she nodded honestly. "Yes, so you need to go back and change immediately."

She paused, then quickly added, "If you catch a cold, I'll be the one stuck taking care of you."

After all, he got sick saving her.
