Never Mistake a Queen for a Lapdog novel Chapter 1086

"Your mom is going to stay in Rivercrest City with you for now. Take care of yourself, and look after her."

Raymond was in a massive rush, and after giving a few quick instructions, he hung up.

Crystal shot to her feet, nearly smashing her phone into the wall.

She was trembling with rage, her chest heaving, her mind buzzing with chaos.

Why?!

What kind of spell had that bitch Noreen cast on the executives at NoMore Corporation?

Why would they throw away a guaranteed, highly profitable deal just to bail out a sinking ship like Winrich?

It made zero business sense!

Driven by sheer fury and resentment, she practically gritted her teeth as she dialed Jude Wilder's number.

The moment he answered, Crystal demanded, "Jude, give it to me straight. Why is NoMore Corporation publicly offering to work with Winrich? Let me be real with you, Winrich is a total mess right now. They are far from your best option. You're taking a massive risk!"

The other end was silent for two seconds before Jude's calm voice came through. "This is our boss's decision."

Crystal's heart dropped. "Who is your boss?" she pressed urgently.

"I'm sorry, I can't disclose that."

Jude was clearly busy too. He didn't offer any more information and hung up.

Listening to the dial tone, Crystal's face turned ashen.

She had meticulously orchestrated this entire scheme to ensure Noreen took a devastating fall.

She wanted to teach her that the higher you climb, the harder you crash!

But just as she was about to reap the rewards, everything flipped at the absolute worst moment!

But at this point, no one cared if it made sense or not.

All the world knew was that Noreen had just become the heir to the Harcourt Group!

This relentless wave of good news was exactly why Winrich's stock was skyrocketing.

As the two women stormed out of the private room, their faces pale and furious, they ran straight into Yves, who was still hanging around.

Yves was practically glowing as he chatted with the man next to him. "Mr. Reynolds, trust me on this. If we throw our lot in with Ms. Gilmore at Winrich, you'll be swimming in cash."

"I can't thank you enough for making the introduction, Mr. Selwyn," Mr. Reynolds said gratefully. "I never had the chance to speak with Ms. Gilmore back in Glenhaven City. Thank goodness you were here to help out, my friend."

"Don't mention it. If this deal goes through, you'll be running Glenhaven City. Don't forget, Ms. Gilmore is backed by the Joyner family over there."

"Didn't Ms. Gilmore break off her engagement with Mr. Joyner?" Mr. Reynolds asked, confused.

Yves patted his shoulder. "You're out of the loop, aren't you? Didn't you see the latest news?"
