My Four Miraculous Treasures (Willow and Jasper) novel Chapter 94

Willow was cleaning the meeting room. There was a stack of papers on the table, showing some fashion designs. They looked so good that her eyes were drawn to them, in spite of herself.

She moved over for a closer look. The first one showed a canary yellow ensemble, chic and pretty. It was similar to what Edith had been wearing, but not quite the same.

“Willow Nason! What do you think you’re doing?!” someone shrieked from the doorway.

She turned to look, as Edith stormed into the room and snatched up the papers from the table, clutching them tightly as she hissed at her, “Spying on our designs? What for? Our entire design team worked non-stop to produce these designs! They’re not for the eyes of a simple cleaning woman like you!”

Edith’s tone was laced with menace, mockery, and contempt.

Willow didn’t want to pick a fight with her. Wearing a polite smile, she said, “You’re exactly right, Ms. Price! Why was such a precious document just sitting around here, on the meeting room table? You’re the personal secretary to the CEO himself, aren’t you? It won’t do for you to be so careless!”

Willow’s clever roundabout attack stung Edith hard, leaving the woman fuming mad. However, she had to remember that her station was above a mere janitor, so she should act like it, instead of giving in to emotion. “This meeting room looks clean enough; meanwhile, Mr. Hughes’ desk is quite a mess. You’re needed in his office, immediately.”

Willow left without delay. As Edith watched her go, a cunning smile played across her lips.

Willow entered Jasper’s office. He was at his desk, reviewing documents.

Somehow, it was hard for her to breathe, in here. An invisible wave of force seemed to wash outward from the man, so that any sound she made seemed much too loud.

However, she couldn’t abandon a cleaning job halfway. Not for any reason.

Carefully, she stepped forward and began wiping his desk for him…

Just like that, she fell right into Jasper’s arms.

It was a man’s body… hot and fiery, hard and firm… Willow’s heart was already racing wildly.

She looked up into eyes like a moonless night.

Sucking in a sharp breath, she clambered all over his broad chest, trying to get herself into an upright position. “I’m sorry, sir! I’m really, so… so sorry…”

And here was a woman, thrown full into his face like a blooming bouquet, the scent of her suffusing his senses, stirring up his basic instincts…

Her delicate hand upon his chest, like a kitten’s paw over his heart, making a mess of his thoughts, and tearing down his resistance…
