My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul novel Chapter 1951

Cody hesitated. He had watched Mabel grow up and didn't want to be harsh with her. But this was involved Manfred.

Taking a deep breath, he asked coldly, "Did you go see Mr. Atkinson yesterday?"

"Yeah, but it's a shame. He didn't say a single word to me. I was hoping to talk to him," Mabel replied, her tone filled with disappointment.

Cody asked, "When you left, did you see a beggar? And did you take it upon yourself to have the guards stop them? Even going so far as to tell them not to let just anyone disturb Mr. Atkinson?"

Mabel frowned. "Yeah, I did. What's the problem? The area around the government office is full of beggars. If every single one of them demanded to see Mr. Atkinson, would he have to meet with them all? He came to the Briarpatch for important matters, not to deal with street vagrants."

Speaking of the beggar, she couldn't help but recall the one who claimed to know Manfred.

Unlike the others with their dull, lifeless eyes, this beggar's gaze was sharp and full of spirit.

The moment their eyes met, there was something captivating—an almost magnetic pull that made it impossible to look away.

For a fleeting moment, it truly seemed like that beggar had a deep connection to Manfred. But the next second, Mabel dismissed the thought.

She thought, "Impossible. How could that be possible?"

One was a nobleman, and the other was a beggar.

Cody was on the verge of losing his mind over Mabel's foolishness.

"Do you have any idea what you've done? That woman wasn't just any beggar—she truly knew Mr. Atkinson. More than that—she's his fiancée! You turned away Mr. Atkinson's fiancée!

"Did you ever consider what might happen if something happened to her because of you? Do you think you, me, or our family would even survive the consequences?"

Just the thought of it sent a cold sweat down his back.

Mabel's eyes widened in shock. "Fiancée? Mr. Atkinson's fiancée?"

"Mabel! Where are you going?" Cody hadn't expected her to take off so abruptly and shouted after her.

She didn't turn back. "Cody, I have to see for myself! That beggar is just a homeless nobody. Yesterday, she even offered to be my maid.

"How could she suddenly become Mr. Atkinson's fiancée overnight? She must have used some underhanded trick! I won't let him be deceived. I refuse to swallow this humiliation."

Cody's heart pounded in fear, a chill creeping up his spine. "What did you just say? Do you even hear yourself? Stop right there!"

He immediately took off after her, but Mabel had been quick on her feet since childhood. Before his words had even fully left his mouth, she had already leaped onto a horse.

After breakfast, Manfred left to handle official affairs. The mess Quillan had left behind was massive, and it would take time to clean up.

Meanwhile, Vivian remained in her room, quietly reading and resting.
