Stella looked conflicted. She knew that Naomi wouldn't let things go easily. However, she couldn't just expel a child like that, so she forced a smile and tried to ease the situation. "Mrs. Lane, this is just a small misunderstanding between the kids. It's really nothing serious—"
Before she could finish, Naomi's expression darkened. She lowered her voice and said, "Ms. Kent, my daughter was hit, and you think that's not serious? Should she lose an arm or a leg for it to be considered serious?
"Also, you're their teacher, and you didn't keep an eye on them. If this gets investigated, you'll bear the most responsibility, do you understand? Do you know what my husband does for a living?"
The implication was clear—if Stella kept protecting Amber, she would deal with both Stella and Amber.
Stella understood the threat in Naomi's words, and her face paled.
She knew Naomi's husband held an important position in Marindale. Rumor had it he was some kind of minister. If she offended them, she could lose her job. As she pondered the situation, beads of sweat began to form on her forehead.
Just then, a voice came from outside the room. "Oh? Your husband's in a high position? Tell me. I'd like to hear about it."
The voice was cold and carried an undeniable pressure.
Everyone turned toward the door.
A man with a noble and dignified air stepped into the room. His silver-gray suit perfectly outlined his figure. His indifferent face held an arrogant, almost contemptuous expression. He was just standing there, yet it was enough to send chills down people's spines.
Beside him were his assistant and a group of bodyguards. They created a significant presence.
The man in the lead was none other than Brian.
Brian coldly replied, "I heard that one of the children got into a conflict today because of Kayden. I naturally had to come and take a look."
He didn't reprimand anyone, but Stella still broke out in a cold sweat. As expected, he was here because of this matter.
Naomi felt the oppressive atmosphere, and her heart raced. She quickly put on a smile and said, "Mr. Norman, it's just a small matter. How could we trouble you to come all this way? In fact, this has nothing to do with Kayden at all..."
She thought this might be a good opportunity to get closer to Brian. The Norman family's influence was immense, and if she could win him over, her family could surely thrive in Marindale. Naomi didn't want to miss this chance.
However, after hearing her words, Brian asked indifferently, "Who are you?"
