While Brian and Kayden chatted, the car pulled up outside the villa.
Just as Henry was about to park, he saw a small figure run from the direction of a nearby bush.
It looked like a little girl!
He was startled and slammed the brakes.
Kayden, in the backseat, was also startled by the emergency brake.
Although Brian couldn't see, his body was thrown forward by the car's inertia. But he instinctively reached out to protect Kayden beside him.
His voice turned serious as he asked, "What happened?"
Henry was shaken but quickly replied, "Mr. Norman, a little girl suddenly ran out, and I almost hit her."
Upon hearing this, Brian frowned and immediately instructed, "Get out and check if she's okay."
"Yes, sir."
Henry nodded and quickly opened the door before rushing toward the little girl.
As he got closer, he could see her face clearly.
The little girl's delicate features made her look almost unreal, like a doll. She seemed to be around the same age as Kayden.
Her fair little face was smeared with dirt, and her hair was messy from crawling through the bushes.
However, it was clear she had been raised with care.
Then again, anyone living in this villa was bound to be from a wealthy or powerful family.
"Are you okay, little girl? Are you hurt?" Henry asked with concern.
Amber was dazed, clearly frightened from the earlier scene, and didn't respond immediately.
Henry's heart sank at her reaction.
He wondered if he had traumatised her.
At that moment, Brian and Kayden also got out of the car.
He was still worried that the car might've hurt her.
Amber cooperatively tried to stand up, and Kayden reached up to help her.
He was relieved to see that she could stand on her own and even twirl around without difficulty. "Looks like you're really not hurt."
However, her small dress was a little soiled.
Kayden immediately turned to Brian and informed him, "Daddy, she's not hurt."
Then he returned to Amber and asked, "Why are you here? Don't you know how dangerous that was just now? If Henry hadn't braked in time, you would've been hit! What would we do if you got hurt?"
Amber blinked. Her soft voice was filled with innocence as she replied, "I didn't mean to. I was looking for a cat. It ran off and squeezed through here…"
She gestured animatedly with her hands. But before she could finish, her gaze locked onto Brian.
She hadn't noticed him before.
Something about Brian's appearance made her expression turn peculiar.
