Chapter 23
Amelia’s statement went live that afternoon.[]
Posted from an account she hadn’t used in ages.
The content was simple and direct:[]
“Speculation about the triangle between myself, Nathan Harrison, and Vivian Hope has spiraled out of control. Nathan and I remain legally married. I’m making this statement to ask that this circus stop. Everything else will become clear in due time.“]]
The negative comments came immediately:[]
“What do you mean ‘stop‘? What ‘due time‘? Just divorce him already!“[]
“Yeah! Vivian’s dying and you can’t even be kind enough to let her have this?“[]
“Disgusting. What’s the point of this post? To remind everyone you’re the legal wife? Are you blaming Vivian? If you can’t keep your husband interested, that’s on you.“[]
“Remain legally married‘? We all know what you’re really thinking.“[]
“I hate passive–aggressive people like this. At least Vivian was honest about her feelings.“[]
“Right! And Vivian and Nathan haven’t even done anything. She just picked him up from work. Based on the paparazzi photos and timeline, she was only upstairs for like fifteen minutes. Unless Nathan is a minute man…‘
n…“]
“Nathan Harrison is NOT a minute man!“]]
The toxic comments kept coming. In the hospital room, Louie watched Amelia with concern.]
“You’re just giving them a place to vent their hatred,” he said.[]
Amelia set down her phone calmly. “If they weren’t commenting here, they’d be saying the same things on other posts. Makes no difference.”
Louie frowned. “I don’t get it. This statement is toothless–no lawyer’s letter, no legal threats. Why post it at all?”
Amelia looked at him steadily. “That’s exactly the effect I want.“[]
“It’s just a statement. No other purpose except creating a paper trail.“[]
Louie still didn’t understand, but he trusted Amelia. If she was confident in her strategy, that was enough. The statement wouldn’t hurt the company anyway.
After all, their contracts were with “Amor” and “Elena“-what did this have to do with Amelia Visconti?
Amelia put her phone away and focused on preparing for the ‘Voice of Heaven‘ premiere.[]
She didn’t tell Louie she was covering her bases.
This statement accomplished at least three things:]
1.It proved Amelia was aware of the online drama and had seen the hate comments.
2.It showed she’d warned Nathan and Vivian about their behavior.]
3.The more toxic comments it gathered, the more evidence of emotional damage and grounds for divorce.]
If the 30–day cooling–off period ended with a smooth divorce, great.
If not, Amelia was prepared to file for divorce herself.

She was getting away from Nathan Harrison no matter what![]
Meanwhile, at Harrison Industries, someone knocked on the CEO’s office door.
Nathan looked up to see his assistant Eddie.[]
“What is it?”
Eddie approached with a tablet. “Mr. Harrison, your wife posted a statement on her personal account.“[]
Knowing it was her account, Nathan frowned. After their marriage, he’d made it clear that any social media posts needed his approval first. She wasn’t just Amelia anymore–she was Mrs. Harrison. But now…]
Nathan checked his phone. Still no messages from her.[]
So she was acting unilaterally.
Nathan took the tablet and read the statement, then scrolled through the comments below.[]
The company’s PR department usually handled online issues, so he rarely looked at this stuff. This was his first time seeing what people were actually saying.
His first thought: This was definitely her posting, which meant the stairwell fall hadn’t seriously injured her.[]
His second thought: She was definitely acting out.]
Not texting him directly, but using this account to send a message, emphasizing they weren’t divorced yet.[]
She knew perfectly well that posting on this account would guarantee he’d see it.]
“Should we contact Mrs. Harrison for some PR coordination?” Eddie asked.[]
Nathan set the tablet on his desk. “Ignore it.“[]
Eddie picked up the tablet and nodded. “What about Miss Hope?“]
Nathan’s fingers drummed the desk. “I’ll handle it.“[]
After a pause, he glanced at Eddie. “What’s Marcus Chen doing now?“]

Eddie hesitated, then lowered his voice. “He went back to his hometown. With v
your orders, he doesn’t dare return to the city.“]
Eddie looked at Nathan again. “With your instructions, he won’t have an easy time anywhere.“[]
Nathan nodded. “Good.“[]
After Eddie left with the tablet, Nathan looked thoughtfully toward the floor–to–ceiling windows.[]
Even from the top floor of Harrison Industries, he could feel the fierce wind outside.[]
The city’s winds were still strong. This storm system had been battering half the country for days without letting up.[]
The city kept running at full speed, everyone following their different paths. Even on this windy day, the buildings were full of noise and activity
April’s newly bloomed flowers were torn loose and swept up by the wind, creating romantic but desolate showers of petals.[]
But eventually, the wind would stop.
Three days passed quickly.
Though Amelia’s body wasn’t fully recovered, she felt much better. The dizziness from her concussion had largely faded.[]
During those three days, she’d prepared her ‘Voice of Heaven‘ performance and finalized her costume and makeup.[]
