Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time novel Chapter 754

Chapter 754 What Did Mom Say?

When Isabella woke up the next morning, her mind slowly cleared. Memories of the previous night rushed back, and she reached for the phone beside her bed to check it.

After a moment, she set the phone down, pressed her lips tight, and pulled herself back under the covers.

Sara pushed the bedroom door open. Seeing that Isabella was awake, she spoke gently. “Want to wash up first, then head downstairs for breakfast?”

Isabella stared at the ceiling and did not make a sound.

Sara could guess what was going through the girl’s head. “Mrs. Wilson messaged me early this morning to ask how you’re doing.”

Isabella shot upright in bed at once. “What did Mom say?”

Sara smiled. “She asked if you were feeling better and whether you slept well.”

She held out the phone to Isabella.

Isabella took the device.

Maggie’s message was only two short lines, just checking if her mood had improved and how her rest had been.

It felt so brief.

Isabella stared at those words for a long time without speaking.

Sara called softly, “Isabella?”

She had thought Isabella would light up reading the message, but the girl’s expression was far from happy.

Isabella handed the phone back to Sara. “Why didn’t she text me directly?”

Sara explained, “You were asleep then. She didn’t want to wake you, but she was worried…”

Isabella stayed quiet. She threw back the blanket, swung her legs over the edge of the bed, and slipped on her shoes.

“Where is he?”

Sara paused for a second before realizing “he” meant Franklin.

“The butler said he left for a business trip before sunrise.” Worried this news would upset Isabella, Sara added quickly, “He left you a note before heading out.”

She nodded toward the desk on one side of the room. A sticky note was stuck right there.

Isabella lifted her gaze, and the familiar handwriting met her eyes.

[Dad had to leave for an urgent business trip. There’s whitewater rafting there, the trip you’ve been begging to go on. I’ll have Sara take you there to play later, okay?]

Once she finished reading, Isabella’s mouth pressed into an even tighter line.

Sara asked. “Should I have someone book the tickets right now?”

“No.”

Isabella bit her lower lip and walked into the bathroom to get ready.

That same night, neither the Browns nor the Greens got any sleep.

They had guessed long ago that everything that happened that evening would leak all over the internet. They had simply chosen not to look at the posts at first.

But online outrage would not disappear just because they avoided it.

So shortly after getting home, Julia, Janice, and Sophia all logged into their social media accounts to read the updates.

When they learned that none of the online leaks included audio, and that the venue’s network had cut out exactly when the confrontation unfolded, they felt shocked and relieved at the same time.

Tracy said, “Was this… just an accident?”

Julia and Janice did not reply. They dared not confirm whether it was pure luck.

Still, no matter if it was an accident or not, even without audio recordings or a live stream to amplify the scandal, the damage to Julia remained severe.

Pictures and clips of her had spread everywhere online. Everyone knew she was the homewrecker who had come between Maggie and Franklin.

The comment sections were flooded with hateful messages targeting their whole family.

Julia stared at the screen for a short while before closing the page.

Sophia kept scrolling a little longer. Just as the cruel online insults became too much for her to bear and she prepared to shut down the browser, she noticed something.
