Chapter 410
Chapter 410
Once they were in the elevator, seeing that Chad had only pressed the floor of his own room, Franklin suddenly said, “No need to come up
Chad paused, then answered, “Yes, sir.”
Only then did he press the button for his own floor.
– The next morning –
Vearing a bathrobe and carrying the clothes he’d worn the night before over his arm, Franklin stepped out of a room, closed the door, and headed the other vay down the corridor.
alia had just come out of the elevator. A smile rose to her face when she saw him, but the moment her eye caught the vivid lipstick marks on the collar and houlder of the shirt hooked over his elbow, the smile vanished. The words at her lips died away.
he stood there, still processing, as Franklin turned the corner and disappeared. A door opened and shut not far away.
efore she could react, the room number directly ahead came into focus.
ut she clearly remembered Chad telling her Franklin’s room was 2503.
he lifted the spare key card she had just gotten from Chad.
did indeed say 2503. She hadn’t remembered wrong.
ɔ why was Franklin coming out of 2508?
ilia pressed her lips together and called Chad. “Who’s staying in 2508?”
had hesitated for a beat. He had no idea how she knew, but he answered truthfully: “Maggie.”
f course.
ilia clenched the phone hard in her hand.
fter a deep breath, she asked, “What happened these past two days?” If nothing had happened, how could Franklin be coming out of Maggie’s room at aybreak in a bathrobe–carrying yesterday’s clothes?
had hadn’t volunteered anything about last night, but since Julia was asking, he briefly recounted what had happened. Then he added, “After we got back to le hotel, the boss didn’t have me continue following. I honestly don’t know what happened between them last night.”
ilia pressed her lips into a thin line and said nothing.
fter hanging up, she stood there for a long moment before setting off toward Franklin’s room.
Isewhere.
faggie woke with a splitting headache and a brief blank in her mind. After a moment, the scene in the bar restroom from the night before flashed back.
ler face changed–she snapped fully awake.
joing pale, she shot up in bed. As she tried to piece together what had happened after the restroom, her eyes took in her surroundings and her movement
alted.
t was her hotel room.
She stared, momentarily dazed. She’d thought she was dreaming.
A beat later, realizing she truly was in her own room–and that she didn’t feel any particular discomfort–her panic slowly ebbed.
she picked up her phone, intending to call Johnny, but his call came in first. “You’re awake?”

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
