Chapter 749
“Franklin knows,” Harry answered without the slightest trace of hesitation in his voice.
Levi had suspected all along that Franklin was fully aware of everything.
Even so, he still could not wrap his head around the reality. Franklin knew the whole complicated history between Maggie and Julia. He knew every old wound and bad blood between the Miller and Brown families. Yet, against all logic, he had still chosen to stand firmly by Julia’s side.
Ever since Julia had stepped into his life, Levi had seen how deeply Franklin cared for her. But he had never imagined that his feelings would run this far, this stubbornly deep.
Levi kept these swirling thoughts locked inside, never voicing them out loud. Still, Harry read every unspoken thought written across his face.
Truth be told, Harry had been processing those exact same questions himself. He too was stunned by just how far Franklin’s affection for Julia went.
Plenty of other guests in the ballroom had reached those very same conclusions. They simply held their tongues while Franklin remained present, afraid to say anything openly within earshot of the powerful billionaire,
Some distance away, inside the Brown family’s luxury sedan, heavy, suffocating silence hung thick in the air. Not one person dared to break the quiet.
Sophia’s eyes stayed glistening red. Uncertainty gnawed away at her. She wanted so badly to say something, but the grim, tight-set expressions on everyone else’s faces kept her mouth shut.
She sank back against the leather seat, too nervous to stir up more trouble.
Julia sat with her head bowed, staring blankly down at the screen of her cell phone.
Janice finally broke the oppressive stillness.
“Has Franklin sent you any messages yet?”
Julia simply shook her head and said nothing at all. Dark, troubled thoughts clouded Janice’s gaze.
Sophia could hold back no longer and whispered timidly into the quiet car.
“He just walked off like that. He didn’t even speak a single word to my sister. Does that mean… does he want to-”
She trailed off before finishing the question hanging in the air.
Everyone else in the vehicle understood exactly what she had been about to ask: Was Franklin planning to end things with julia?
Jaruce’s mind wandered elsewhere, and she answered half-distractedly.

Chapter 749
“ti Franklin had stopped to talk to Julia in front of that whole crowd, he would have only painted a bigger target on her ba Everyone would have torn her apart.”
Aicker of hope sparked inside Sophia.
“So he was actually looking out for her?”
Janice could not bring herself to agree with any certainty.
If Franklin had acknowledged Julia and taken her with him as he left, they would never have suffered such brutal public humiliation. In fact, all the scorn might very well have landed on Maggie instead.
Janice fell silent once more. Sophia grew even more unsettled, yet she did not press for further answers.
Silence wrapped around the car again, and it persisted all the way until they pulled into the driveway and stepped through the front doors of their grand family home.
Grandmas had no clue about the disastrous chaos that had unfolded at the gala. They greeted the returning group in bright, cheerful spirits.
“You’re all home!”
Before anyone could reply, she kept right on talking.
“Did Dr. Mercer give you a definite answer about Julia becoming his student?”
Janice shook her head and was just about to explain what had happened.
At that exact moment, Logan’s car also pulled up into the driveway. One of the household staff hurried over to greet him.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
