Chapter 375
Chapter 375
Franklin said, “Shall we go together when the time comes?“.
Julia instinctively opened her mouth to refuse. “I don’t…”
She was going to say she wasn’t sure if she’d have time then.
But that didn’t quite align with her usual demeanor.
So before the word “don’t” fully left her lips, she changed course.
“Sure,” she said instead.
Just as she was about to sit down on the sofa, her steps halted slightly when her eyes landed on a document on Franklin’s desk.
Noticing her gaze, Franklin added, “The company is also considering developing a new large model. This is a research report on Cole’s programming language and two of their recent in–house projects. They’ve come up with some interesting things. You might learn a lot from reading it.”
As he spoke, he handed the document to her.
In the past, Julia would’ve happily and eagerly accepted it.
But now…
Her face stiffened slightly.
Still, with Franklin already handing it over, she had no choice but to take it. “Okay,” she said.
Then, as if something crossed her mind, she couldn’t help but speak again.
“Isn’t it a bit late to start studying Cole now? By the time we develop our own version, the market might’ve already moved on. The pace of technological change is just so fast…”
“That’s true,” Franklin nodded. “But the goal isn’t to replicate Cole’s work–it’s to extract the core technology that we can use, and innovate on that.”
“… That makes sense.”
He continued, “Besides, Cole is advancing rapidly. But I don’t think everything they’ve done is short–term. Their programming language, for instance–it took years for the market to fully recognize its value. As for those two projects they’ve just launched, even with the current pace of technological progress, I’d say it would take at least three years for another company to surpass them. So, no, studying them isn’t pointless.”
At this point, Franklin’s admiration for Cole’s language and the two projects was fully on display.
Julia’s heart sank a little more.
Franklin truly admired people with talent.
If he ever found out that Maggie was the one who developed Cole’s programming language…
Or that the two new projects were both launched after Maggie joined Cole…
That meant, there was a strong possibility Maggie led the team behind those projects as well…
If… If Franklin ever found out all of this-
She turned her head slightly and looked at Franklin, who was already immersed in reading, the document still gripped tightly in her increasingly pale hands.
That evening, Julia returned to the Brown family home for dinner.

At the dinner table, the family had been chatting happily.
Then, the TV news suddenly cut to a segment about Cole.
Julia paused, looked up and saw it was about Cole’s collaboration with Chamberlain Story.
The report featured an interview where Chamberlain expressed great satisfaction with the partnership. He said their company’s long–standing problems were resolved soon after the collaboration began. Many overseas firms in the same sector were now reaching out to work with Cole as well…
The Lin and Sun families hadn’t had strong feelings about Cole before.
But ever since Cole snatched the smart transportation project they had their eyes on, everyone in the family had grown to dislike them.
Now, seeing that Cole had just taken over the transportation project and already landed another major deal–plus had more clients lining up–while their own tech companies and Wilson Tech were still struggling…
Everyone at the table, including Logan, fell silent with heavy expressions.
Logan, already burdened by company troubles, completely lost his appetite.
He rubbed his temples and quietly put down his knife and fork.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
