Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 708

Dominic couldn't just stand there and say nothing anymore. He had to defend himself.

"Grandpa, I never said anything like that to my sister. I have no idea why she would think that."

Shay?? Seriously?

Dominic was throwing her under the bus!

Sydney chimed in smoothly, "Shay, maybe you misunderstood Dominic? Look at the mess you've caused. How embarrassing."

Shay?? What was this, a betrayal convention?

In a flash, Shay realized Sydney was dragging her down to save Dominic and herself.

Fuming but powerless, Shay had no choice but to swallow this bitter pill.

"Grandpa, I..."

"I can't believe this, Nichola. I'm so disappointed in you. Jumping to conclusions and picking on Josie. Thankfully, Josie is kind-hearted and didn't want to blow things out of proportion. You could learn a lot from her."

Shay was seething inside, cursing the old man under her breath for doing this on purpose.

Her heart was on fire, but her face stayed frosty.

"Grandpa, it's all my fault. I didn't listen carefully," Shay said, putting on her best pitiful act.

"And you haven’t apologized to Josie yet?" Brandon questioned.

Shay glanced at Sydney, who offered no help.

Taking a deep breath and forcing a smile, Shay said, "Josie, I'm sorry. It was all my fault."

Backed by her allies, Josefina responded with a satisfied grin, "I'll forgive you this time, but don't expect such leniency in the future."

Brandon affectionately told Josefina, "Josie, you're just too kind-hearted."

Josefina simply smiled, which infuriated Shay even more.

Dominic responded in a low tone, "Sorry, I underestimated the situation and Josefina's play."

"Are you saying your brain isn't as sharp as Josefina's? She's obviously playing us!" Sydney exclaimed.

Shay angrily added, "Dominic, this is all your fault! If you hadn't agreed to her visit, we wouldn't be in this mess, treated like fools just like Luke. And now with Grandpa here, he'll never trust us again."

Dominic retorted sarcastically, "As if he ever did."

Sydney snapped, "Enough! All of you, shut it! We need to figure out what to do next!"

Dominic and Shay fell silent.

Sydney, worried, asked, "Dominic, the person Josefina brought with her, what did he see when you went outside?"

"He just looked around the yard and the garden. Didn't enter the house."

Sydney heaved a sigh of relief. As long as they hadn't been inside, their secret was safe for now.
