Oliver paused, but didn't ask Josefina why she wasn't eating.
Josefina waved over the restaurant owner, who quickly approached their table.
"I noticed a unique smell in the dipping sauce. What did you add to it?" Josefina asked.
The owner, grinning widely, replied, "Our recipes are a closely guarded secret. I can't share that information."
Josefina stood up and handed a taco to the owner. "It smells too good. I don't dare eat it. You try a bite."
The owner stepped back, startled. "We can't eat from the customers' plates. Just enjoy it, it's a real treat."
Josefina scoffed, "How can anyone enjoy it if they're dead?"
Suddenly, the owner pulled out a gun and aimed it at Josefina.
The hunt was on.
Oliver grabbed a skewer from the table and threw it at the attackers.
Josefina swiftly moved behind a nearby cabinet for cover.
Seizing a chair, Oliver hurled it towards their assailants, finally understanding why Josefina had insisted on being his secretary—this had been an ambush!
Fueled by rage, Oliver didn't back down. Instead, he threw a wine bottle at the attackers.
The owner and four waiters dodged as best they could, while Josefina wasn't idle either—her bracelet shot out tiny silver darts.
Two of the attackers, including the owner, were hit and quickly became too weak to hold their weapons, which clattered to the floor.
At that moment, Oliver's bodyguards stormed in, subduing the attackers.
Relieved to see Josefina unharmed, Oliver approached her.
Hand in hand, they made their way to the car.
