Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 618

Mr. Marquez hung up the phone, pacing back and forth in his office, his mind buzzing with thoughts.

Finally, after much hesitation, he sent a quick message to Big Boss Yu: “Hey, sorry to bother you, but how old are you this year? I saw a girl at the University of Melbourne today who really reminded me of you. Is she your daughter?”

Staring at his phone, Mr. Marquez wondered if he'd crossed a line.

Before he could retract the message, he realized it was too late.

“Damn it!” he muttered under his breath.

Quickly, he sent another message: “Sorry about that, Big Boss Yu. Had a bit too much to drink and sent the wrong message.”

He tossed his phone aside, trying to shake off the embarrassment.

Why did he always manage to say the wrong thing?

As the military training wrapped up, Josefina’s roommate Joelle called her out for dinner with their other roommates, Damita and Haylee.

“I’ve got something to handle, you guys go ahead,” Josefina told them.

Without much fuss, the trio headed out for a meal.

Josefina walked briskly, the day’s heat becoming unbearable.

Eventually, she reached Mr. Marquez's office.

She knocked, and Mr. Marquez quickly opened the door.

Seeing Josefina at the doorstep, he stood there, dumbfounded, before a wave of excitement washed over him.

“Big Boss, it’s really you!” Mr. Marquez exclaimed, rubbing his hands together in glee.

Josefina stepped inside, and Mr. Marquez closed the door behind her. He handed her a cup of warm water and fetched some cold sodas from the fridge.

“Thanks,” said Josefina, taking a sip of the water.
