Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 476

Before Billy could get a word in, Josefina scoffed, "Oh, I see how it is. You only want me back because I can make you money. What if I couldn't do that? Would you even bother calling me then?"

Billy's face flushed with embarrassment, but he pushed on, trying to maintain his composure. "Josie, come on, call me 'Dad', will you? For the sake of our history, can't you throw me a bone here?"

"No way. I'm done rescuing you. How many favors have I pulled for you with the Antonio family? How much money have I shelled out? Why don't you ask Ruby for help? Isn't she your daughter? Oh, she can't help you? Isn't she really your daughter? Did you even get a paternity test done?"

Billy suddenly felt there was something more to Josefina's words.

"Don't call me again," Josefina added. "I've got better things to do than waste my time on you."

With that, she hung up.

Billy, holding his phone with no place to go, noticed Ruby coming down the stairs and absently touched his nose. Ruby's nose was flatter, unlike his prominent bridge. Then there was Lauren, who also had a high nose bridge.

Doubts crept into Billy's mind, and he headed upstairs. Seeing this, Ruby asked, "Dad, why aren't you out?"

Billy, barely containing his anger, replied tersely, "Forgot something."

He marched up to the second floor, slipped into Ruby's room unseen, and snatched a strand of hair from her brush, wrapping it carefully in tissue paper. He hurried out of the house.

With a mask and hat on, Billy entered a clinic and requested an urgent paternity test.

Lauren, protective and furious, charged forward. "Billy, what gives you the right to hit Ruby? Can't you talk like a normal person? Are you out of your mind?"

Billy let out a bitter laugh and delivered a slap to Lauren as well.

Both women exchanged bewildered glances, completely clueless about Billy's sudden rage.

Billy flung the paternity report at Lauren's face, pointing at her nose as he shouted, "Look at what you did! And you have the nerve to ask me?!"

Ruby picked up the paper from the floor, scanned the results, and was completely gobsmacked. She quickly handed the report to Lauren, whose expression shifted from anger to panic, and finally to abject defeat.

Billy, witnessing the rapid change in Lauren's eyes, understood all too well what it meant.
