Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 475

The girl stood there, head bowed timidly, avoiding Finley's eyes.

"Alin, I know you don't like me," she murmured, voice barely audible. "I'm thinking of leaving."

Finley's face tensed with a mixture of anger and disbelief. He glared at her. "What? Where do you think you're going? Found someone else, have you?"

"No, I haven't!" Tears of humiliation streamed down her face.

"Alin, why do you think so little of me? You're the only person I know. My world revolves around you, but yours doesn't revolve around me. I know you have feelings for that girl Shay, that's why you named me Shanna. I know everything!"

Finley, red with fury, stormed over and grabbed her throat, his voice a menacing growl. "Shanna, if it wasn't for me pulling you out of the ocean, you'd be fish food by now!"

Even as Shanna gasped for air, she didn’t fight back, her tear-filled eyes locked on his, her stunning face a mask of despair.

Finley released his grip, his eyes bloodshot with rage as he stared at Shanna.

With a detached look, Shanna faced Finley. "So, what now? You want my life as repayment? Will that do?"

Shanna's first memory upon being rescued at sea was Finley's face. Over time, she grew fond of him.

But Finley's heart belonged to Shay. He treated Shanna as a mere shadow of Shay, calling her Shea instead of Shanna, a painful reminder that he saw her as a stand-in for his true love.

Stepping forward, Shanna locked eyes with Finley. "I'll give my life back to you, how about that? Will that suffice?"

"No!" Finley snapped harshly.

With a softer tone, dripping with possessiveness, he added, "Shanna, you can only stay by my side!"

With that, Finley strode away, leaving Shanna alone with her broken heart.

...

"Achoo!"

"To deal with a scoundrel, you need to play their game. If he's shameless, we don’t need to show him any respect."

Josefina hung up, her mood lifted.

Her spirits hadn’t fully recovered when Billy called.

"Josie, can you come home?" Billy's voice was heavy with sorrow.

Josefina sighed. How many numbers did Billy have?

Whose number was he using this time?

Just as she was about to hang up, Billy's weeping voice came through, "Josie, you are my daughter. Please come home."

Josefina's voice was icy as she replied, "Mr. Antonio, I have no blood ties to you. Why should I return to your home?"
