Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1199

Cassandra was ranting about Josefina's supposed regrets, blissfully unaware that she was the one who should be regretting her own actions. She'd really messed it up this time. It was such a massive blunder that it nearly made Cassandra faint from sheer panic.

Josefina got wind of the whole fiasco from Mandy, who came rushing back, breathless and wide-eyed. "Josie, you won't believe it! Cassandra, that idiot, finally got herself into a real mess. It nearly scared me to death!"

"What happened?" Josefina asked, putting her phone down.

Mandy took a deep breath to calm herself before diving into the story. "Cassandra really screwed up, and she dragged the whole school down with her. She was in the school lab, trying to cook up a cure for something called the withering willow. But instead of a cure, she ended up poisoning the students who were helping her. The ambulance hadn't even arrived yet, and the whole place had to be evacuated—students from classrooms and dorms alike."

Josefina just stared, at a loss for words.

Mandy continued, "The school is jam-packed with people, like sardines in a tin. It's a miracle no one got trampled. If that had happened, even a hundred lifetimes wouldn't be enough for Cassandra to make up for it!"

Josefina shook her head. "She must have someone backing her. How else would she manage to do something so reckless?"

She was genuinely curious—had Cassandra's support finally run dry?

Josefina dug around in her bag and handed a face mask to Mandy. "Mandy, I'm heading over there."

Mandy grabbed her arm. "Josie, you can't go! That withering willow stuff is super toxic, and there's no antidote. If you get poisoned, I won't be able to face Aunt Helen."

After all, she had promised Aunt Helen she'd look after Josie!

Josefina reassured her, "Mandy, don’t worry. I know what I’m doing. I just need to see. Innocent people might lose their lives, and how many families will be up all night worrying? We're studying medicine to save lives, not to turn away when things get tough."

Inspired by Josefina's determination, Mandy felt a sense of duty. "Alright, Josie, let's go together!"

The two of them set off side by side.
