Marrying the Man in the Dark (Damien and Cherise) novel Chapter 1220

Chapter 1220 Feeding the Doctors
Lucy and Cherise were sapped of strength and starved. The grilled cheese sandwiches in the lounge were barely enough to satisfy the black hole within their stomachs.

With the door open, Damien watched his tiny wife completely absorbed in eating the grilled cheese sandwich with knitted brows.

He stalked closer and promptly plucked the sandwich out from Cherise's hand. "This is not nutritious."

Cherise, who was enjoying her meal, looked up in annoyance. "Who cares if it's not nutritious? I'm hun... honey?"

Her initial anger turned to shock and then to sheer joy.

She held out her arms, wrapping them around Damien's neck, and jumped onto him as he held her. "You're back! I missed you terribly!"

He'd been at sea for over half a month. Since they got back together, they had never been separated for this long.

The signal at sea was spotty at best, making it a challenge for her to talk to him at her convenience. All her frustrated yearning exploded all at once. Ignoring the presence of Lucy and Colin nearby, she threw herself into Damien's arms, caressing his face and showering him with kisses.

"Honey, you've tanned and lost weight."

After over half a month apart, her husband had become quite sun-kissed from his time at sea and looked much thinner. Even so, the slender, bronzed Damien looked all the more ruggedly appealing.

Damien fondly messed up Cherise's hair. "Enough grilled cheese sandwiches. Honey, let's go get some real food."

"Okay!" Forgetting her fatigue, she leaped down his body, snagged her coat, and dragged Damien out the door. "I want fish!"

"Sure, let's get fish..."

Lucy shifted her shoulders, looking down at her grilled cheese sandwich. "No need to thank me. It's simply what we should do. Cherry is Maeve's sister-in-law, and saving her life is the appropriate choice. Plus, I've received lots of help from the Lenoir family over the years, so it's only natural for me to offer my assistance when I can."

"However..." Lucy knitted her eyebrows slightly. "The future will still be a trial for you."

At the grilled fish restaurant, Cherise rubbed her bloated belly while casting a wretched glance towards Damien. "I think I just gained an extra two pounds."

"It's good to gain a little weight." Damien lifted his brow, a sardonic smile on his lips. "You're too thin. If you stay this way, I don't know when we'll have our third child."

Cherise pouted, fixing him with an intense stare. "You keep talking about having a third child! I've already told you that I don't want more children."

He smoothed out his expression. "But Maeve said she wanted to see us grow our family before she leaves."
