Chapter 1208 Golden Opportunity Presented
Anthony's body shook violently at Damien's single sentence.
He bit his lip and replied cautiously, "I don't think I know what you're insinuating."
"So you're playing that game, huh?" Damien's smile was faint but unmistakable. "Fine. We can talk more in Dorothy's ward. Let me clarify things clearly for you then and there."
"Ah, that's right," Damien's voice rang out again.
He spoke the words aloud as if he had remembered something, but uttered icily, "I don't like to be kept waiting."
"If you don't arrive promptly..."
"I can't promise Kenneth won't lose a limb in prison," Damien added ominously.
Anthony gripped the phone tightly in his hand, his voice edged with defiance. "Damien, do you truly think you wield that much influence?"
"You'd be wise to remember that we are in Yatesville, not Adania! Your authority means nothing here!"
Anthony's final words rang out almost like a shout.
It was inconceivable, utterly inconceivable.
How had Damien managed to completely infiltrate Yatesville's connections in under a month?
Yatesville was supposed to be Anthony's home ground, his domain, the stronghold of the Gray family!
The Lenoir family belongs in a backwater like Adania!
Damien's power and influence can't have extended here; it's impossible…
The low magnetic voice on the other end chuckled softly. "Uncle Anthony, at this point, you still believe Yatesville is truly yours to command?"
"If there existed a person in Yatesville who actually followed your lead, you wouldn't be left isolated on that street in such a miserable condition, would you?"
"I have the means and resources to lock up your illegitimate son forever, where he'll never see daylight."
"You know by now that I can make it happen."
His voice then took on a low, threatening rumble. "Considering the atrocities you've done to the Lenoirs, even if I were to send him to the afterlife and tear his body piece by piece, it wouldn't be unwarranted!"
Anthony's forehead glistened with sweat, his resolve wavering under Damien's chilling words.
With teeth gritted, he begrudgingly conceded, "Fine! I'll go along with it!"
They all shared a positive history with Cherise, whether she had helped them mend their personal relationships or preserved their lives through her medical expertise…
A soft chuckle escaped Damien's lips as he mulled on it.
On occasion, her involvement had turned out to be helpful.
Even though he had infiltrated Yatesville's network weeks earlier, Damien had refrained from immediately taking action against Anthony.
The delay was deliberately strategic, waiting for the right opportunity.
To strike when either Kenneth or Anthony made a misstep.
When it came down to it, Anthony was directly related to both Jude and Colin. To Jude, he was his father. And to Colin, he was once his cherished Uncle Anthony.
Therefore, Damien couldn't afford to make a move lightly, and he had to take their feelings into account.
But devil-may-care Kenneth? It was as if Kenneth had given him the keys to his house.
A hit-and-run incident.
With a cold smirk, Damien's lips curled slightly.

🌸 Message to the Author: 🌸 Hi! I just finished reading your story, and I truly loved it — especially Damien and Cherise’s journey. But what completely stole my heart was Lennon and Lucy. Their final scene left me stunned… Lennon being alive, quietly showing up after all that time — it was such a powerful and emotional moment. But it also left me with so many feelings… What happened to him? How did Lucy react after the shock wore off? What did they say to each other? I keep thinking about them. I know they’re side characters, and the story is marked as completed, but I would truly love a bonus chapter — even a small one — to see what came next for them. They deserve that closure. And honestly? So do we, as readers who deeply connected with them. And we would also love to see more of Damien and cherise with their kids. Thank you for creating characters that live so deeply in our hearts. If you ever feel inspired, please consider giving Lennon and Lucy a little more. ❤️...
