Chapter 1113 No Chance
"By the way, I never got around to asking because you lost your memory," Lucy seemed to suddenly recall something and looked up at Cherise. "Can you finally tell me why you were so insistent on adopting this child in the first place? Just because you thought he was cute?"
Cherise's heart skipped a beat. She hesitated, then pursed her lips. "Lucy, actually, this child..." At that moment, she felt there was no reason to keep it from Lucy any longer. With Lucy's inability to conceive, finding out she has a biological son should be a joyous occasion, right? Taking a deep breath, she was about to reveal Alexis's true identity when Lucy's phone rang.
It was an unknown number. "Yes?" Lucy answered the call without moving away from Cherise. "I'll be right back." Hanging up hastily, Lucy stood up. "The hotel staff informed me that my dad left with a man named Belcourt," she said, her lips pursed with a hint of coldness in her eyes. "That d*mn Lennon has followed me here!" With that declaration, she gathered her belongings and made to leave.
Cherise pressed her lips together and rose from her seat. "Um, are you still not… willing to..."
"I want to steer clear of anything to do with him!" Lucy ground her teeth in frustration. "If he's in Adania, I'll leave Adania. I can't bear to be in the same city as him! There's no chance of reconciliation in this lifetime." With those words, she grabbed her bag and hurried away in enormous strides.
Cherise remained rooted to the spot, watching Lucy's departure in a daze. The determination in her heart began to waver. Should I really… divulge Alexis's true background to Lucy? Especially now, when her resentment towards Lennon burns so fiercely... Maybe I should let it go. With a heavy sigh, Cherise got up and left.
"I've envisioned Lucy's wedding countless times," Cherise confessed softly as she leaned against Damien, a hint of sadness tugging at her heart. "But I never imagined... it would be like this..."
Despite the knowledge that this wedding was purely a business transaction, Cherise couldn't help but feel… heartbroken and upset in spite of Lucy's apparent indifference towards the event. It was because Lucy was kind, courageous, charming, and deserving of happiness above all else. Why, then, was she relegated to such a fate?

🌸 Message to the Author: 🌸 Hi! I just finished reading your story, and I truly loved it — especially Damien and Cherise’s journey. But what completely stole my heart was Lennon and Lucy. Their final scene left me stunned… Lennon being alive, quietly showing up after all that time — it was such a powerful and emotional moment. But it also left me with so many feelings… What happened to him? How did Lucy react after the shock wore off? What did they say to each other? I keep thinking about them. I know they’re side characters, and the story is marked as completed, but I would truly love a bonus chapter — even a small one — to see what came next for them. They deserve that closure. And honestly? So do we, as readers who deeply connected with them. And we would also love to see more of Damien and cherise with their kids. Thank you for creating characters that live so deeply in our hearts. If you ever feel inspired, please consider giving Lennon and Lucy a little more. ❤️...
