"I told you Isabelle was my home. She gave me life, not you. If it weren’t for her, you wouldn’t even have an offspring to try to force or bend to your will!"
Rohan kept hitting the demon. If he couldn’t kill him, he would hurt him.
Through the anger, Rohan kept hitting the creature as he spoke the words of his heart, words about how Belle had given him a second chance at life when she was a reaper, and that it was because of her he still breathed now. "...she gave me life. She was my everything, but because of you, she is no more." Rohan finally released his sire and fell to his knees, bent his head, and began to cry all over again.
The demon king, who until now had never understood how Rohan had come back to life after his heart was removed many years ago, realized in that moment that it had been because of the human. Though he had known her as the dead girl, it was not because he possessed full knowledge of what she truly was, but because she carried the air of death and his precious vision ball had labeled her as someone who should not be alive. That was how he knew she was no ordinary living person. But to hear now that she had once become a reaper and was the reason Rohan came back to life...
His power, strong as it was, did not extend past the mortal world. He could not see into the lands of the dead, could not witness punishments or bargains that took place there to even know what the girl did whenever she went there in her sleep. To be honest, he didn’t care about the girl as she was the reason his offspring became weak in the mind and heart. All he had wanted to do was to send her back to live with the dead where she belonged but she had returned time and again until now.
He had never known the girl was undergoing punishment. He had never known the exact story of what she had done for this boy to love her that much to the point he cried for her.
The demon king reached out his hands and pulled the rod from his stomach. The wound closed immediately as the flesh knitted itself back together. He watched his offspring, who had been crying just awhile ago, rise back to his feet and say,
"Since I cannot kill you... and you have always wanted me to come to your damn world, then I will stay. My powers seem stronger here. It will be easier to do everything from here."
Before the demon king could ask what he meant, the boy had already stood fully and was looking around him and taking in the blackened grounds. It was true, every demon grew stronger at home, but he had never expected Rohan to know how to channel that power, let alone use it well. Yet the boy surprised him again, this time by using his illusion abilities.
Rohan created his own vision ball, a swirling large circle through which he could watch the happenings in the mortal world. It was similar to the demon king’s vision orb, only Rohan made a much larger one, on each side, a living window to each kingdom, displaying their activities in real time. He watched the world through the vision with his dark eyes reflecting the light.
"What are you planning to do?" asked the demon king, noticing Rohan tracing fire circles with his fingers.
"Burn down everyone and send them to the land of the dead. I will destroy every order of the death until they send me back my wife."
"You know they cannot send back someone who is already dead, don’t you?" remarked the king, wariness in his voice as he saw the boy manipulating the visions, sending flames directly through them into the kingdoms. If the boy were to stay in the demon world for a few more years, he would come to know many things, and his powers might even grow stronger than those of the king himself.
