Seeing Theodore rubbing his eyes with a pained expression, Eliana brought over the pills she got from Wyatt. “Um… Mr. Russell, you haven’t taken your medicine tonight.”
Theodore replied in a cold tone, “I’m not taking it.”
Eliana gently urged, “If you don’t take it, how are your eyes supposed to get better?”
Theodore gave a silent, scornful laugh, thinking, ‘If I did take it, my eyes would never get better. Lainey and Anthony probably think I don’t know they switched out the pills Samuel left behind.’
Whing they
In the past, he used to flush the pills down the toilet once Wyatt left the room. Now that Eliana was living here, he had to wait until she went to shower to get rid of them.
That was why, after two years, his eyes still hadn’t recovered. He didn’t want to alert the enemies yet. Until his grandfather uncovered the full truth behind the car accident, he had to endure.
With that in mind, Theodore pushed down his hostility and replied as he usually would, “Just leave the pills there. I’ll take them later.”
“Alright.” Eliana nodded and then asked, “Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat.”
Theodore looked slightly surprised. “You’re not angry at me?”
Eliana blinked her eyes, looking confused. “Angry at you for what?”
“The food you left by the door, I actually…” He was about to explain that stepping on it had been unintentional.
But Eliana cut in, “I’ve already cleaned it up. Don’t stay upset, okay?”

A short while later, Eliana returned with a steaming bowl of pasta. She said, “Dinner’s here. You can dig in now.”
Theodore reached out his hand, and a second later, a fork was placed into his palm.
“Careful, it’s hot,” Eliana reminded him.
He bowed his head and scooped up a bite. The food was scalding, but the warmth spread all the way to his heart.
Watching him eat, Eliana finally exhaled in relief. She mused, ‘Good thing I picked up extra groceries at the market today.
After the meal, Theodore suddenly, and a little awkwardly, announced, “Starting tomorrow, take me out for a walk after dinner.”
Eliana was caught off guard by his abrupt change. Delighted and surprised, she asked, “You mean it?”
Yeah. Theodore had thought it through. What Anthony said tonight was definitely not idle chatter. If he didn’t act, Eliana could really become another Alice.
Besides, compared to Alice, Eliana was even more naive and inexperienced, so she was completely defenseless against Anthony’s gentle charm.
If Anthony succeeded, Eliana would turn into his eyes and ears. It would be a hidden threat to everything Theodore was
