Chapter 31

Actually, it wasn’t the main reason. Giving Hannah a hard time today lifted Eliana’s spirits. In her good mood, she couldn’t help but buy a little more than planned.
After hearing her explanation, Anthony let out a soft sigh. “You know, I’m really jealous of Theodore.
“Why?” Eliana looked at him, puzzled.
Anthony gave her a teasing smile. “I heard he made you cry last night, and you still cook for him. Not every man gets to have such an understanding wife.”
Eliana blushed slightly at the compliment and responded with humility, “Come on, I think Ms. Powell is really gentle. And besides, Theodore and I just had a small argument last night, nothing serious. I definitely didn’t cry. Don’t believe every rumor you hear.”
Anthony mused, ‘So it seems they’ve made up?‘
His smile dimmed slightly, but only for a moment before he returned to his usual calm expression. He thought, ‘No rush. We live under the same roof. I’ve got time to take this slow.”
As they walked to their respective rooms, Eliana suddenly remembered something. She spoke up, “By the way, thank you for entrusting me with such an important task, even after finding out I’m just an assistant.
“I’ll do everything I can to make sure your engagement ceremony with Ms. Powell is perfect.”
Seeing the genuine gratitude lighting up her charming face, Anthony wore a bright smile. He replied, “Alice and I gave you a full month to prepare. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
“Your company is full of talented people. If it ever gets overwhelming, I’m sure they’ll support you all the way.”
“Yeah, thanks.” Eliana started to find Anthony more and more agreeable. He was really thoughtful and easy to work with.
She thought, ‘It’s a shame Theodore doesn’t like Anthony. Otherwise, I wouldn’t mind inviting him to dinner when I cook next time.‘
Eliana walked upstairs and returned to her bedroom, saying, “Mr. Russell, I’m back.”
Hearing Eliana’s cheerful voice the moment she stepped through the door, Theodore raised his eyebrows and asked, “Win the lottery or something?”
“Nope,” she replied.
“What makes you so happy? Let me hear it,” he said. Strangely enough, Theodore hadn’t cared about other people’s moods in a long time. But with Eliana, he always found himself making exceptions.
Eliana stuck out her tongue, thinking, ‘Was I really being that obvious?‘
She replied, “Maybe I shouldn’t tell you. You might get upset again.”
Theodore deliberately put on a stern face. “If you don’t tell me, I will get upset.”
Eliana hesitated for a while. Since they were all living under the same roof, it wasn’t something she could hide forever. Besides, she thought Anthony getting engaged to his girlfriend had nothing to do with Theodore,
Thinking of that, she explained, “Actually, Anthony and his girlfriend are getting engaged in a month. They happened to

hire our company to plan the event. And, by sheer coincidence, I became the lead coordinator.”
