I found what Zion said amusing.
"If you could handle it, Andy wouldn't have come to the hospital looking for Selena."
"Besides, I've looked into your background. You've only been involved in the management of the company for two or three years. With this limited experience, there are many things you have no idea how to solve."
Ever since Zion forced me to stay, I secretly paid someone to look into what he and Selena had been doing lately. Although the timeframe was short, I still managed to find some clues.
Hearing my words, Zion looked surprised, but more so, he looked suspicious.
He probably didn't believe me at all.
Despite being angry at what I said, Zion couldn't deny them because they were true.
"That's my business, not yours. As long as the company doesn't collapse, it's fine."
His dismissive response infuriated me.
Selena had worked hard for over three years to gain control of the company. Despite everyone's doubts, she rose step by step to become the current CEO. Yet Zion's only goal was to prevent the company from falling apart.
Was it because it was Selena's company and not his, so he didn't care much about it?
Thinking of this made my anger flare.
"If you push Selena to go to work and the board of directors finds out she is sick, do you know what kind of consequences that would have?"
Of course, I knew the consequences. If the board of directors found out that Selena was sick, they would surely think she wasn't fit to lead the company and vote her out.
Thinking of this, I frowned, took a deep breath, and tried to calm myself.
I glanced at the phone. It had already been half an hour since we were on this call.
