Leaving You Bereft (Willow and Julian) novel Chapter 270

Now, however, all Julian wanted was to shower Willow with love. He wanted her to be happy.

On the last working day before the new year, Julian was sitting in the CEO's office at Nebula Group. He had just signed the last document and given it to Esther.

"You can get off work after you distribute these documents to the relevant departments."

She took it and chuckled faintly. "Alright. Mr. Ziegler, Happy New Year."

He hummed in response, pulled out an envelope from his drawer, and said, "Here you go. Happy New Year."

There was a 660-thousand-dollar check inside. Needless to say, Esther was thrilled to get it. She was willing to work 12 hours a day, six days a week, if it meant she could get more money.

Just as she was about to leave the office, Julian suddenly felt dizzy, and his vision blurred.

Esther was immediately shocked. "Are you okay?"

He stared at her with unblinking eyes, and his mind suddenly blanked. He didn't regain his consciousness until over ten seconds later. He was dumbstruck and stunned for a long time.

Then, he said softly, "Make an appointment with the neurology department at the hospital. I want to see a doctor before 3:00 pm."

Esther immediately did as she was told.

It was 5:00 pm. The setting sun on the horizon showered the earth in an orange, golden glow as the evening clouds blended harmoniously.

Julian walked out of the inpatient building of Mercy Hospital as the doctor's words rang in his mind incessantly.

"Mr. Ziegler, the previous car accident left a small blood clot in your brain, but it has been growing bigger all this time. Right now, it's pressing on your nerves.

"You might start having blurred vision at first, but you will start losing some memories over time. It might even put your life at risk if you don't remove it through surgery.

"It's in a tricky position too. We are looking at a 30% success rate, even if you decide to have the surgery."

"Perhaps we should find a better doctor and let him handle the surgery."

She had always thought of herself as a hard-hearted person, but she had worked for Julian for years. Of course, there was a bond between them. This was the first time she had cried so miserably in her life.

Meanwhile, Julian continued to smoke calmly. His handsome features concealed his actual feelings.

Charles Somner was an authoritative figure in neurology. He wouldn't make such a rookie mistake. If Julian wanted to go through with the surgery, he would have to do it within three months.

The thing was, Evelyn still wouldn't be born in three months, and Landon's condition would remain uncured. Willow would still be pregnant by then.

That was what scared Julian. What if he passed away on the operating table? What would Willow do?

His Adam's apple bobbed uncontrollably. At that moment, his phone rang. It was Melanie. Several seconds later, he answered it. "Hi, Mom."

Melanie was immediately stunned. Then, her eyes quietly turned red. It had been a long time since Julian had addressed her this way.
