Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 90

"Nonsense," Wendy exclaimed, taken aback. However, before she could respond, Arthur entered with Dr. Robert trailing behind him. The moment Arthur stepped in, he overheard the child spouting more bewildering remarks, his face darkening entirely.

Christopher glanced up, noticing Arthur's arrival with a foreign man in tow. Fear gripped him, turning his face pale.

"Arthur, lower your voice." Wendy, despite recognizing that Hendrick was speaking illogically, noticed her grandson's pallor and swiftly reprimanded her son.

"Mom, take a look," Arthur said with a hint of helplessness. "He's even refusing to acknowledge his own mother."

"Hello, Hendrick." In that moment, after exchanging greetings with Wendy, Dr. Robert amiably directed his attention to Hendrick, offering a friendly hello in a kid-friendly manner.

Christopher eyed the elderly man, who smiled like a turtle, wondering about his purpose when Arthur spoke, "Hendrick, spend some time with Dr. Robert today. If there's anything on your mind, talk to him. He's here to help you."

Doctor? This foreigner is actually a doctor!

Christopher's face paled once more. It seemed his absentee father had brought a doctor home, treating him like a patient.

"I'm not sick," he objected loudly.

Arthur shook his head. Each time, Hendrick adamantly refused to admit he was unwell, but considering his current state, it was hard to deny.

"Grandma, I don't want to see a doctor. Tell him to leave." This time, fear took hold. He had no desire for injections or medicine. He'd only experienced one injection and taken medicine once in his life, and the sensation was too unpleasant. He rushed into his grandmother's arms, crying loudly.

Wendy empathized with her grandson, repeatedly saying, "Alright, no need to see the doctor. Grandma will take you for a treat."

She exchanged a meaningful glance with Arthur and exited with Christopher.

Robert found himself deep in thought.

Technically, he was Hendrick's doctor, having played games and engaged in conversations with him several times. However, this time, he observed Hendrick completely acting as if they had never met, which struck him as peculiar.

"Robert, you noticed that too, right? Is his condition worsening?" Arthur inquired with a grim expression.

Robert reflected, "Children can be unpredictable as they're in constant flux due to growth. It's hard to determine the severity of his condition. Let's monitor him for a few days before reaching any conclusions."

Finally, Arthur nodded in agreement.

Christopher finally agreed to eat obediently.

"Arthur, could you please consider delaying your marriage to Sheryl?" Wendy sat across from her son, broaching the matter with seriousness.

"Mom, marriage isn't something to be taken lightly. I've already made a commitment to Sheryl," Arthur Bridgewater responded with a sense of helplessness. "The children are already grown, and she's been living with us for six years. She deserves a certain status."

"But Hendrick is opposed to it," Wendy sighed in helplessness.

In the past, she had consistently opposed Arthur marrying Sheryl, not out of prejudice, but because she couldn't bring herself to approve of Sheryl as a person.

She always perceived her as ruthless, scheming, and inconsistent – a woman with qualities she deemed less than admirable.

Having only one son, Wendy wished for his happiness.

Yet, this time, Arthur had made up his mind to marry Sheryl. Considering the two grandchildren, she reluctantly accepted Sheryl.

Unexpectedly, Hendrick strongly opposed it.

She had to reconsider the situation.
