Not long after, the sound of high heels could be heard in the living room.
Sheryl walked in unsteadily.
"Mommy." Elaine ran up to her excitedly.
Sheryl's eyes were wandering around the living room.
Chris, Hendrick, and Jennifer were playing checkers, but they just looked up at her, ignored her, and continued playing.
Huh, those damn kids!
After Sheryl cursed angrily in her mind, she looked around for Arthur, and was disappointed when she didn't see him.
She came to see Arthur under the guise of seeing Elaine.
"Mommy." Elaine ran up to her and called her mommy again.
Sheryl had no choice but to bend down, pick up Elaine, kiss her, and ask, "Where is your daddy?"
"He just went upstairs." Elaine pointed upstairs.
Sheryl's face darkened.
It seemed that Arthur was avoiding her on purpose.
She put Elaine down and walked towards the kitchen.
Sylvia was cooking and busy.
"Hey, sister, you are cooking." She was wearing a mink fur coat, long boots, a famous watch, and a diamond ring. She was covered in jewelry. When she stood in the kitchen, the whole kitchen was glittering with reflection from her golds.
Sylvia ignored her and continued cooking.
"Sister, I heard that you came to Bridgewater mansion to work as a nanny." Sheryl deliberately raised her fingers with exquisite nail polish and wiped the long, wavy hair on her forehead. Her ten nails were covered with gold. When the diamond ring was lifted up, the sparkling light flashed directly into Sylvia's eyes.
Arthur was standing in front of a map, observing carefully with a serious face, when Elaine walked in.
"Daddy."
"Is something wrong, Elaine?"
"Daddy, my mommy is here."
"Oh, I know." Arthur looked at the map, "Go and stay with her."
"But Daddy, why don't you come down and stay with Mommy? Mommy misses you so much." Elaine stood for a while and then spoke cautiously.
Arthur looked up at the little girl and smiled slightly: "Elaine, something is wrong with Daddy. Your mommy doesn't miss Daddy. In the future, she will find a better man than Daddy."
"No." Elaine raised her head, "Daddy is the most noble, handsome and rich man in the entire city. If you don't want mommy, then mommy will never find a better man than you."
