"Arthur, if you continue to dote on Elaine like this, it's not a good thing for her." Wendy shook her head, "Look at how serious Christopher and Jennifer are about eating. Not a single grain is wasted. They eat whatever is available at home. What a great child they are."
Under Sylvia's education, Christopher and Jennifer were very disciplined and not picky about food, but Hendrick and Elaine did not have such good habits.
"Mom, Elaine is only five years old and is still a child. Don't worry so much. I have my own sense of discretion." Obviously, Arthur didn't take it seriously and couldn't listen.
Wendy shook her head helplessly. Elaine has many shortcomings. If she doesn't teach her while she’s still a child, it would be difficult to teach her well when she grows up. But her son was doting on her, so there was nothing she could do about it.
Jennifer looked at her father holding Elaine with big eyes, his voice was gentle and his face was full of concern, not to mention how sad he was.
She picked up her rice and tears fell uncontrollably.
Sylvia looked at Jennifer, feeling very sad.
After dinner, Arthur actually took Elaine out to eat hand-made beef balls and beef sausages.
After Sylvia took Jennifer upstairs, Jennifer asked in a low voice, feeling depressed. "Mommy, why doesn't Daddy like me?"
Sylvia stroked her head and smiled: "Silly girl, how can a father not like his daughter? What's more, my little one is so well-behaved. Because of this, Daddy likes Elaine and treats her okay because Elaine is his daughter, but daddy doesn’t know that you are his daughter now, so he won’t be so kind to you, but don’t take it to heart. When he knows about it in the future, he will be kind to you.”
"Okay." Jennifer nodded sensibly.
Sylvia held her in her arms, patted her back and comforted her. With mommy's comfort, Jennifer soon felt relieved.
The night was dark, and a crescent of stars and moon hung in the sky.
After the children fell asleep, Sylvia stood on the balcony and stared at the shadows of the trees at night.
She remembered clearly that when she was ten years old, she had dinner with her father, Dominic, together with his daughter and Fiona.
Just like today, Sheryl knocked off her chopsticks because she picked up a chicken leg. She was unwilling to give in and replied, "You are not the only one who can eat chicken legs." Immediately, Fiona pointed at her nose and scolded her. She's a b*tch.
"Why are you hiding here and crying?" A man's voice came from behind.
She was startled and turned around. Arthur was already standing beside her.
"It's nothing." She turned her head and wiped the tears from her face, looking at him coldly: "Do you need anything to me, Mr. Bridgewater?"
"Who bullied you?" Arthur looked at her with doubtful eyes.
"No one." Sylvia sneered: "Mr. Bridgewater, it seems that the beef balls tonight is delicious. Elaine must be very happy to eat them."
"Yes, do you want to eat too?" Arthur curled up a smile on his lips.
"I don't want to." Sylvia said coldly, "It's just that, Mr. Bridgewater, do you think Elaine did the right thing tonight?"
