Larissa shook her head with a smile. She gently tapped each of them on the head. “Behave now. Sleep together.”
They immediately ceased their roughhousing and curled up peacefully.
Larissa took a quick shower and, while drying her hair, saw a message from Haskell on her phone.
[Larissa, sleep well. Goodnight.]
She smiled and typed back: [Goodnight, Haskell.]
...
Sometime later, the ringing of her phone jolted Larissa from a deep sleep.
It was Nightveil. She answered immediately.
“Boss, they're making a move on Vivica.”
“Good,” Larissa said, her voice calm and clear. “Keep Vivica alive and capture the hitman. I’m on my way.”
“Understood.”
She checked the time: two-thirty in the morning.
So, she’d been right. To take her down and reclaim control of the Judson family, Paxton was actually willing to sacrifice his own wife.
In that case, she would show him no mercy.
Larissa changed quickly and knocked on the door to Haskell’s room.
