Axel glared at him furiously, but Tarquin remained completely unfazed.
"She's a free woman. She can go wherever she wants. She's not bothering me, so why on earth would I tell her what to do?"
Axel scowled. "You'd be doing it for me!"
Tarquin narrowed his eyes.
"The problem is, Blossom is Elysia's best friend. If I piss her off, I'm basically pissing off my own wife."
"And between you and my wife, I care a whole lot more about my wife."
Suddenly, Blossom burst into the room. Eyes red, she marched right up to Axel's bed.
"I don't care what you say, I'm not leaving! You ruined my protective talisman, so you have to take responsibility for me!"
Axel frowned. "I'll get it fixed!"
"You also tainted my eyes!" Blossom fired back. "You have to take responsibility for that, too!"
Axel looked utterly baffled, clearly having no idea what she was talking about. "?"
Blossom lifted her chin defiantly.
"When you were unconscious, I was the one who gave you sponge baths. I saw every inch of your body! You tainted my eyes, so I'm no longer pure. You owe me!"
Elysia and Tarquin: "!"
Benjamin and Lowell, who had just walked in: "!"
The three friends stared in absolute shock before narrowing their eyes, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle unfolding before them.
Axel's expression was a masterpiece. He went from a thunderous scowl to blushing furiously, the color spreading all the way to the tips of his ears!
It was incredibly obvious he had zero experience with women!
His heart rate monitor started beeping rapidly, the numbers skyrocketing!
Axel was too stunned to speak for a solid minute before finally forcing out an angry retort:
"If anyone isn't pure anymore, it's me!"
Hearing this, Blossom didn't get mad at all.
"Fine then. I admit fault. I'll take responsibility for you—by marrying you!"
