His Unveiled Passion novel Chapter 492

Yves gave a short laugh. "Judging by your reaction, I guess you didn't win her over."

Lester discarded a card without changing his expression. "When are you and Nina getting back together?"

The question instantly wiped the smile off Yves' face. "That hit a sore spot," he muttered, looking deflated.

Lester's smile remained cool and flawless. "I learn from the best."

Nina Prescott had been an intern under Yves and was also his ex-girlfriend. They had dated for over half a year.

After she obtained her license, she left for another firm. They both had demanding jobs, with little time for dates or companionship. Over time, their relationship faded.

She was the one who initiated the breakup, while Yves had been the one who couldn't let go. Lately, he had been trying to win her back, but so far, all his efforts had been in vain.

After that question, Yves fell silent.

Jasmine and Molly dominated the karaoke room. Both were good singers and rarely put the microphones down.

Tessa stayed for a while longer before getting up to use the restroom.

The suite had separate facilities for men and women. Unfortunately, the ladies' room was occupied. She had no choice but to use the public restroom outside the private suite.

She stepped out into the hallway and made her way to the women's restroom.

On her way back, a hand suddenly yanked her aside just as she turned a corner. A strong stench of alcohol hit her nose.

She frowned in disgust and looked up to find Zachary, flushed and clearly drunk, staring at her with hazy eyes.

Tessa pulled her arm free and glared at him coldly. "Move."

"Tessy, have you been well lately?" His eyes were dazed but fixed on her as if in desperate longing.

The slap seemed to jolt him partially awake, but he still wouldn't release her wrist.

Without another word, Tessa struck his forearm with a sharp blow using her free hand.

She didn't hold back. Zachary gasped in pain, his face paling as he instinctively let go.

She gave him a shove. Already unsteady on his feet from drinking, he stumbled and nearly fell.

Without so much as a glance back, Tessa walked away.

"Tessy…" he called after her in pain.

She didn't pause. She didn't even turn her head.

When she returned to the suite, Jasmine hurried over. "Tessa, what happened? You look awful."
