His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) novel Chapter 1300

A thunderous explosion shook the mountain!

A breaching charge blew the heavy steel doors of the lab clean off their hinges. Fully armed SWAT officers flooded the corridors, sweeping the subterranean nightmare room by room.

Outside, mercenaries who tried to resist were gunned down on the spot, while others surrendered and were promptly zip-tied.

As the commander of Operation Dawn, Aaron Ashbourne refused to sit safely in the Mobile Command Unit at the base of the mountain. He led from the front lines, storming the facility alongside his men to hunt down the criminals and rescue the victims.

"Captain Ashbourne, we've swept the interior! We haven't found any high-level targets!"

"Captain Ashbourne, there's a subterranean tunnel on sub-level two! They must have escaped through there! We've radioed the perimeter units to lock down all exit routes and apprehend anyone suspicious!"

Aaron's gaze was lethal, his voice commanding. "Take them alive if possible! We need their testimonies. Specifically, I want Alexia in cuffs! You all saw her photo in the briefing, right?!"

"Yes, sir! Orders have been relayed!"

Aaron scanned the desolate, horrifying underground laboratory. The flickering fluorescent lights cast long, grim shadows across the sterile white walls. The air was thick with the suffocating stench of industrial bleach masking the unmistakable, metallic tang of fresh blood.

It was a literal slaughterhouse hidden from the world.

A few SWAT officers sprinted down the hall, their faces ashen. "Captain Ashbourne! All the victims... they're all dead. Shot execution-style in the head. There are no survivors."

Aaron's pupils contracted violently. "What did you say? Not a single person survived?!"

The officers bowed their heads, their expressions etched with profound grief and helplessness.

"Motherfuckers!"

Aaron's furious roar echoed down the endless concrete hallway. He kicked open door after door, but all he found were cold, lifeless bodies arranged methodically on the beds and floors.

Watching their commander desperately tear through the rooms searching for a pulse, the officers felt a sickening knot form in their stomachs, their fists clenching in righteous anger.

They had been entirely blind. A massive, illegal human experimentation ring had been operating right in their backyard, and they hadn't suspected a thing.

...

Far away, a sleek black helicopter took a wide detour before setting down in a secluded clearing.

Alexia, flanked by two of her top enforcers, hopped out of the chopper and slid into a waiting black sedan. They sped off toward Chad's private estate in Elmsworth.

"Ms... Ms. Alexia... what do we do now?" the enforcer asked, terrified.

Alexia's white lab coat was smeared with dirt and blood. Gone was her usual arrogant, polished demeanor. She looked like a filthy, beaten stray dog.

"You're asking me? Who the hell am I supposed to ask?! This is all Hans's doing! And that little bastard 072! Once I recover... I'm going to report every single detail to Sir! I will hunt them to the ends of the earth and tear them limb from limb!"

The two men kept their heads down, not daring to utter a single word.

The Genesis Lab was gone. Everything had been burned to the ground.
