His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) novel Chapter 1064

A storm churned in the depths of Thaddeus’s dark eyes, impossible to suppress.

Suddenly, a sharp, blinding pain exploded deep inside his skull, as if something wild and uncontrollable was crashing around in his brain, threatening to split it open.

Evadne...

Somewhere in the furthest recesses of his mind, floating and distant, he heard himself calling out her name.

“Thaddeus? Thaddeus? Are you alright? You don’t look so good,” Chad asked with genuine concern.

Thaddeus pressed his tongue hard against his teeth, squeezing his reddened eyes shut for a moment.

“I’m fine.”

“I wanted to tell you because, down the line, if I start pursuing Ms. Evadne more openly, I didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable about it. I know you two have already broken up, but you loved each other once, and I respect that.”

Chad’s eyes softened, a hint of a smile playing at the corners. “I don’t want you to think I’m trying to steal her away from you. I just hope I can go after the woman I care about, fair and square, without letting anyone else’s feelings get in the way.”

The pain in Thaddeus’s head blurred his vision. Desperate to keep Chad from noticing, he hurried to end the conversation.

“It’s over between us. Whatever you want to do, it’s none of my business.”

He turned away, forcing himself to take a few steps, but then stopped short, frozen by another thought he couldn’t hold back.

“When did you… when did you start to have feelings for her?”

With his back to Thaddeus, Chad squinted up at the sky, looking entirely at ease. “I can’t say exactly when. Maybe it started the first time I found myself envying you—envying the simple, honest love you two had. Just now, when I saw Ms. Evadne cry in front of me, that’s when I truly made up my mind. I want to make her happy. I can’t stand to see her in tears.”

...

Leaving the rooftop, Thaddeus walked stiffly toward the parking lot. The cold wind he inhaled cut through him like shards of glass, stabbing him with an agony he couldn’t put into words.

For a split second, she looked just like the figure he’d been chasing in his memories for so long—a perfect overlap.

Before he could say a word, his eyes closed, and he slipped into unconsciousness.

“Mr. Thaddeus? Mr. Thaddeus?” Alexia called softly, a glint of something cold flickering deep in her eyes.

...

Late at night.

After fainting at the hospital, Thaddeus was stabilized and then sent back to Windermere Estate, where he was still fast asleep in his room.

Now that Alva had returned, Alexia left his side and went to find Chad.

“I never imagined the medication would cause such a severe reaction,” she said quietly.
