"Dominic! We need to talk." Athena said while turning to look at him.

She didn’t want things to get stiff between them once again after they have passed through all these hassles.

And from the look of Dominic, she knew whatever he was thinking wasn’t anything good.

"I don‘t think we have anything to talk about." He said while not looking at her and suddenly got up from the sofa was going to walk past him when Athena caught his hand, stopping him from leaving.

She looked at him with a frown..

"Dominic! Why are you being like this? sit down and let‘s talk." Athena said with the same frown as she tugged on his hand again.

She knew he was hurt, maybe a little bit angry but mostly hurt.She also knew the reason for his hurt.

After all, which father won’t be hurt if not acknowledged by their own son.

She knew he wanted her to tell Ace about him being his father.

But how could she just drop the bomb on her sweet child? It could attack him like a shock as well.

But apart from that she has another reason of her own which was stopping her from doing so but she can’t tell Dominic about that.

It‘s going to hurt him more.

"I am not being like anything, Athena.I just have some work and I need to take care of them immediately.I will talk to you later." He said in a somewhat normal tone as he tried to pull his hand away from her, immediately earning a scowl from her.

She wasn’t liking how he was shutting her off instead of talking about the issue in hand.

That‘s not going to help them at all.

But how would she make him understand that?! 

"Dominic, why are you being like this?! You are not even ready to talk.Look, I understand that you are upset because Ace is not aware of your identity and about the relationship you both share.But walking away is not the solution.You have to sit down and have a talk with me.That’s how we are going to raise him or solve each and every problem in our lives.If you are like this, how are we going to do that?"

She exclaimed in a little bit of frustrated tone as she looked up at him with a deep frown.

He was still standing up.

"Shh…shh…calm down.I know.You don’t have to stress over it so much.You don’t have to worry about me.I am fine." He said with a soft smile grazing his lips, making her heart skip a beat.

It wasn’t any good kind of feelings, it came from a bad feeling which she got after hearing his empty words.

"Do...don’t worry about you? What do you mean?"

She stammered a little while looking away from him.She was afraid of looking at him into his eyes as her heart started to beat crazily again.

He let out a small chuckle.

"I am the leader of this territory for a reason, Athena.I am not stupid.I could clearly see that you don’t trust me completely yet, at least not regarding Ace.You don’t think that I am a good father for him yet.You think I am still not worthy enough to be his father yet and I understand.Trust me I understand that because I didn‘t give you much reason to trust me on this.But that doesn’t mean I am upset or sad.I am going to prove myself to you and become the best father that Ace deserves.But please have faith in me and never try to give me false words.That‘s all I am asking for."

He said with a small smile while looking at a dumbstruck Athena, who was too shocked to say anything.He didn’t say anything to her after that.He left the place after placing a small kiss on her forehead as she sat there silently.
