Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin) novel Chapter 338

Suzanne felt a sense of uneasiness. She picked up her glass of wine and took a sip, swallowing the sense of uneasiness down. By the time she placed her glass back on the table, she had regained some of her composure. Smiling, she said, "You're mistaken. I'm the same as before."

She was still healthy. There were no changes.

Austin had cut the steak into pieces for her and placed the plate back in front of her. He clearly did not believe what she said. He said calmly, "I'll get Rita to bring you lunch from now on."

Smiling, she shook her head. "No need. The food in the company is not bad."

Austin merely looked at her. "Do you want me to bring lunch to you personally?"

She was speechless. Looking at how insistent he was, she said helplessly, "I just don't want to trouble Rita. The food at the company is really—"

Before she could finish, Austin said, "It's fine. I'll increase her pay."

She was once again at a loss for words. She knew she had lost the battle. Once Austin had made up his mind, it was pointless trying to dissuade him.

She picked up her fork and had a taste of the steak, which had been cooked extremely well. The taste lingered in her mouth even after swallowing it. Her eyes glimmered with amazement as she looked at Austin and said, "This restaurant is great."

No wonder they had such good business.

Austin smiled. "Good that you like it."

While they were chatting, a familiar voice sounded from the entrance. "Suzanne?"

Suzanne and Austin looked over to see Henry standing by the entrance in a black suit. He looked at them in surprise.

Once Henry realized it was Suzanne, the way he looked at Austin changed.

Austin had an authoritative and rather oppressing gaze. He oozed regality and nobility. He was clearly not an ordinary man.

Was he Suzanne's boyfriend?

The only person he could suddenly think of was the man at the pinnacle of the social pyramid in Dudore. However, he immediately dismissed that thought.

The fourth son of the Hall family was an exceptional man. He would never fall for a failure like Suzanne.

The Yates family was always invited to the birthday parties hosted by the Hall family. She wondered how Henry would react when he found out that they would no longer be invited from this year onward?

Austin leaned back and looked at Henry coldly. "I thought her father's dead? Who the hell are you?"

He had always been finding an opportunity to get back at Henry for bullying Suzanne. Now that the opportunity was in his hand, of course, he was not going to be friendly to Henry.

Henry thought that Austin would be at least intimidated by the fact that he was an elder or just the fact that he was Suzanne's father.

Austin's reply infuriated him to no end. He looked at Suzanne and asked, "Is this what you tell others?"

That ungrateful daughter of his! What terrible things did she say of him to others?

He clenched his fists and tried hard to suppress the rage bubbling in him.

Austin was still looking at Henry icily. He asked, "Since you're her father, why did you leave her stranded alone?"
