Suddenly, a number of people caught a whiff of a stench. They glanced over at the manager's crotch, only to look away in disgust.
James was speechless. He did not expect the manager to be such a weakling who'd actually pee his pants in fright.
This room clearly could no longer be used to host Charles and his acquaintances. James went up to him and nodded politely. "Mr. Jennings, I've kept your luxury private room reserved for you. Would you—"
Charles furrowed his brows as he glanced at the spot that had been contaminated by the manager's urine. Then, he peered at Marsha, Suzanne, and Cheryl. In a soft voice, he prompted, "Let's go."
Suzanne and Marsha had no objections. This was no place for them to stay.
Cheryl was struck dumb. Right now, she wasn't even aware of Marsha's and Charles' identities. So, all the more she wasn't going to voice her opinions.
James stepped aside and extended his arms to show them the way.
All of them marched to the luxury private room upstairs.
Thereafter, the crowd who watched them leave started to speculate about who they were.
Someone exclaimed, "Shit! That woman from earlier looks a lot like that director."
Due to the dim lighting in the bar, they hadn't gotten a good look at her. Moreover, they had only been able to see her from afar, so it had been even harder to get a clear view of her.
Someone else shook their head and disagreed, saying, "I don't think so. A public figure like her wouldn't act so brazenly."
Earlier, they witnessed the woman being utterly pompous.
After pondering over that statement for a bit, the person nodded and said, "That's true."
…
A few minutes later, Suzanne and her group of acquaintances arrived at the private room.
James ordered the best drinks and the most luxurious snacks and fruit platters for them. Standing by the side respectfully, he said, "Mr. Jennings, let me know if you need anything else."
After taking a quick look at the group of fighters behind James, Charles dismissed them with a wave of his hand. "It's fine now. You may leave."
Marsha accepted hers while Cheryl shook her head. Looking at Suzanne, she said, "Suzanne, I've got to go back to work in a bit."
Without waiting for Suzanne to say a word, Marsha gave Cheryl a pat on her shoulder. In an assertive yet caring manner, she urged, "Leave this job and come work for me moving forward."
Cheryl was stunned. She knew who Marsha was now. She was someone well-known for making hit movies and television shows.
Everyone in the entertainment industry would love to act in one of her works. Even a minor role might shoot them to fame.
Yet this amazing person was inviting her to work with her? Cheryl felt a little dazed.
With an unconfident gaze in her eyes, she looked at Marsha and asked, "Ms. Newton, w-what do you mean?"
While she anticipated Marsha's response, her palms started getting clammy. She was a nervous wreck.
Was it what she thought Marsha meant?
