Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 813

Elliot came with Shannon on her return trip to the Jensen residence.

Earlier that morning, Shannon was surprised when he had offered to join her in returning to the Jensen residence. It was Elliot who'd avoid leaving the mountain at all costs.

Though he claimed to "recheck" on Marie, Shannon wasn't buying it.

"What's the real reason?" she asked.

Elliot looked away somewhat awkwardly and glanced at her before mumbling, "Mr. Darlington won't let me build a pet playroom…" Albern even wanted to keep the one million dollars he'd earned.

Elliot usually wouldn't mind since Albern had always managed his earnings from consultations. The latter would also buy him anything he wanted.

Money meant little to Elliot, but he recalled Kai saying that the adults would claim to keep the money safe only for it to vanish someday. Elliot should keep the money himself so he could build ten pet playrooms if Albern refused and no longer loved him.

Elliot was saddened by Kai's words. His chubby face dropped to his chest as he murmured, "Mr. Darlington doesn't love me."

Shannon couldn't find the words to respond.

They arrived at the Jensen residence after nearly two hours.

As Shannon and Elliot got out of the car, Shannon noticed an unfamiliar car parked in the garage. All the cars would at least feel familiar to her even if she didn't recognize all of them.

She decided not to dwell on it and led Elliot toward the house. But just as they passed the garden, her steps halted abruptly.

She spotted a recognizable face but not a close acquaintance. It was Elora, Cecily's younger sister.

Elora had been reluctant, but when she learned about the luxury items the Jensens had gifted Cecily, she'd been shamelessly tempted. If Cecily could do it, so could she, and even better.

Though her first two visits had been met with closed doors, Marie was kind to Philip and Kimberly. She waited at the gate of the Jensen residence for two days before Marie agreed to let her in.

In just two days, she'd managed to bring a smile to Marie's face.

Elora might be young, but she prided herself on being smarter than Ccecily. She knew her place and wouldn't foolishly compare herself to Shannon, the eldest daughter of the Jensens.

Though she still held a grudge against Shannon for not lifting her curse, she wouldn't dare let it show in front of Marie.

Her sweet smile was still on her face as she supported Marie and waved warmly at Shannon from afar. "Shannon, you're back!"
