Ashley was stunned by Mike's words, while Mindy became concerned and turned to Shannon. "Ms. Shannon, what's wrong with Ashley?"
Ashley was similarly anxious. "Did something happen to my family?"
Shannon looked at her and shook her head. "Your family will be fine, but you won't be."
Her words elicited gasps from the girls, and Ashley visibly paled.
Mike explained, "Judging by your face, your life will be smooth sailing until you turn 24. After that, your house of social status, house of balance, and many other houses weaken. This suggests you'll encounter significant setbacks, especially concerning your health and well-being."

Judging from her face, the calamity seemed imminent.

Additionally, since Mindy didn't exhibit the same signs of calamity, it suggested that an accident wouldn't happen on this train.
If Mike hadn't brought it up, she might have only passed the talisman through him. Not for any other reason, but because Ashley was his client.
According to the rules of the mystic arts, this was Mike's project. Unless Ashley or Mike took the initiative to say otherwise, Shannon wouldn't intrude.
The timing was just right.
Ashley took the shielding talisman and quickly stored it away carefully. Then she transferred the fees to Mike and Shannon and thanked them while preparing to get off at the next station.
The girls wouldn't have believed a word of what Mike had said if he were some random man, but he was Shannon's classmate.
Besides, Shannon agreed with him, so it had to be accurate. After all, they were loyal fans of Sixth Sense and Shannon. However…
