Instead, Earl needed Cecily to seek a helper to deal with Shannon.
Shannon methodically unraveled the potential scenarios in her head. Before she could ponder deeper, she heard the sound of a camera snap in front of her.
Snapping back to reality, she looked up instinctively and saw the camera a distance away. Meeting her eyes, the young girl opposite smiled awkwardly.
Then, her friend beside her pushed her lightly before they hesitatingly left their seats and arrived before Shannon. Their gaze showed hints of enthusiasm and excitement.
"H-Hi, are you Shannon Jensen?"
Since the release of Sixth Sense became a huge hit, Shannon became a well-known figure online, especially with her highly recognizable face.
She had started to get used to being recognized while walking down the street, and at the remark, she simply nodded in response.
The girl who initiated the conversation, Mindy Hale, tugged at her friend excitedly before squealing at Shannon, "Hi, Shannon! I mean, Ms. Shannon. We're your fans!"
She pulled her friend over, saying, "We both are!"
Naturally, Shannon averted her gaze from Mindy to the friend who wore a mask beside her.
Maybe because Shannon had just resolved Cody's matter, she felt rather indifferent to fans, especially ones wearing masks.
Noticing her stare at her mask, the girl retreated a few steps in embarrassment. Mindy quickly explained, "This is my friend, Ashley. She's caught a cold, so she's wearing a mask."
Upon the mention of a cold, Elliot, who had been trying to shrink into the seat by the window and pretend he didn't exist, instinctively lifted his head to look at Ashley Perez, the girl in the mask.
Mindy and Ashley seemed tempted, but before they could respond, Mike slowly added, "At only 300 dollars, I'll tell you about your past and present lives—fair and square, no deceit… Ouch."
He got kicked by Shannon, displeased to receive her warning glare.
Surprisingly, Ashley piped up softly. "Can you do a reading on me?"
While asking, she removed one side of her mask.
Shannon and Mike instinctively looked at her, their eyes narrowing once they saw her face.
"My best advice for you is to get off at the next station and take the train home."
