Shannon was at a loss for words.
"This is my first time staying at such a luxurious hotel. I heard that they come with free access to the gym and pool, so I sneaked in last night to have a swim!" Mike exclaimed.
She remained speechless.
"Oh, how I wish I could experience this again. I came from a poor family background and never had a chance to experience such a wonderful hotel. The bed was so soft last night."
After her prolonged silence, Shannon finally asked, "If you liked it so much, why did you refuse when Hector invited you to stay the night?"
She meant when he came to help rescue Eva. After receiving the payment, he hurried back to campus, and Hector could barely make him stay.
Mike, initially giving all sorts of signals and clues, widened his eyes at her words. His voice became shaky. "You mean… I could've enjoyed a night in a luxurious suite? For free?"
Shannon nodded. Although the Jensens didn't explicitly state it, she was confident they wouldn't make him pay for his hotel room after assisting in Eva's rescue. With Hector's personality, he would've arranged everything in accordance.
Wasn't that the normal thing to do?
Yet, Mike had seemingly received a huge blow and suddenly covered his face. Did he… just lose a chance of a cozy, luxurious night at a presidential suite?
He quickly settled down the next second. "So, that means your family owes me a night at a fancy hotel then! You know what? Let me cash in on it today!"
Shannon was speechless once again, albeit thinking, "Fine. Whatever."
Earl, who orchestrated the fate-exchanging between Shannon and Rachel and later killed the latter, had passed away.
Despite receiving a backlash from Shannon's talisman before getting captured, with the agents expecting him to die on the journey, he surprisingly made it back to the agency alive.
Although somewhat disfigured, he was well and alive… until this morning.
While taking advantage of the guards' distraction, he used up his remaining blood to draw an array before releasing the person locked up with him. In the end, he died violently.
The person he sacrificed his life to send off… was none other than the culprit Mitchell apprehended, Cecily.
