Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 756

Shannon had mentioned attempted murder when she'd reported to the police, but they hadn't provided any clear conclusions by the time she'd left.

And yet, Macey was certain that Quilla would die tonight. Instead of a curse, it sounded more like she already knew.

Macey froze briefly when she heard Shannon's question. She forced a harsh tone and stammered her response, "What-What do you mean she'd die tonight? I'm saying she deserves to die! Can't I curse her?"

Shannon's eyes remained calm as she stared at Macey's soul. "You claim she's your daughter-in-law, but her mother-in-law is bedridden. That woman's living soul is still intact, so does it mean you have two living souls?"

Macey's face flickered with panic. She wanted to brush it off but was afraid of slipping up and giving Shannon more leverage, so she chose to remain silent.

Shannon noticed her reaction and was sure something was off. She pulled out a yellow talisman without hesitation and spoke in a cool yet threatening voice. "Speak."

Macey looked at her talisman with some fear, but she quickly regained her composure. "I'm a living soul. You mystic masters aren't allowed to harm living souls, so don't think you can scare me with that!"

Shannon was surprised that Macey knew this rule. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and she put the talisman away. "You're right."

A look of delight flashed in Macey's eyes, but just as she was about to gloat, Shannon calmly called out, "Leah."

Leah had been watching everything aside. She immediately drifted toward when she heard Shannon's call. "Were you calling for me?"

"Your turn," Shannon said as she opened a gap in the barrier.

Leah instantly understood and sneaked inside. She began delivering a solid beating to Macey's soul.

Macey would never have expected Shannon to get a ghost to attack her. She was shocked that she could feel the punches despite being a soul.

"The system mentioned that it'd just take me seven days to merge with your grandma, so I agreed to it of course. Nobody would want to be bedridden forever.

"In my world, my daughter-in-law was ungrateful too. I taught her a few lessons when she first married my son, and I didn't meddle much in taking care of the children.

"She showed her true colors after I had a stroke. She'd give me attitude every day and feed me bland food. She'd claim it was for my health, but she was actually torturing me!

"After just a year of taking care of me, she started giving my son a hard time, so she deserves to die. She was supposed to die tonight."

The timeline in her original world was faster than the current, so she knew Quilla would die tonight and in a shameful way.

Macey felt Quilla had it coming for mistreating the elderly.
